I'm sure this has been covered in previous threads, but wanted to share my experience installing the lower bumper fascia with the tow hook cut outs. My 2018 tahoe did not come with tow hooks or fog lights and I'd like to add both.

Fascia part number is 22936496

This was a pretty easy DIY once I figured out what needed to be done. There are 20 or so clips that must pop out on the under/back side. This is easily completed with your fingers and a flat head screw driver. Simply press in the tab and pry the clips out.

I found it necessary to release both front fender liners to access the left and right clips as well as remove the fog light delete brackets. I didn't completely remove the fender liner, I only removed the first five screws and two on the bottom so that I could pull them back enough to access the back of the fascia through the fender liner.

Once all the clips are removed and the fog delete panels (held on by four screws) the fascia can be pulled off with a little force.

All in all it took me about two hours. That was taking my time with a few beer breaks and ensuring I carefully removed all the clips to prevent breaking anything. If I had to do it again now, it would take me no longer than an hour.

Will be installing the fog lights and tow hooks next week.

Was at the chevy dealer today picking up the tow hooks and saw a Silverado with red tow hooks. I thought it looked pretty sharp so I thought I'd try it out. Worse case scenario I don't like it and can change it back to black. Installation to come.

Looks great! I like the red tow hooks.

How are you doing the wiring for the fogs? I make a number of different harnesses for the suv platform and am working on an OE type solution for the fog lamps. I have a SLT Yukon with fogs already, so I need an suv without them to see if this solution will work.

My intention is to follow the factory harness path going through the connectors in line back to the under hood fuse block. I’ll need your help in verifying if certain wires are present, etc.

PM me if you’re interested. Keep us updated on your progress!

Tow hook installation complete!

Still adjusting/tweaking them to my preferred angle and trying to get them evened up.

Fog lights come in tomorrow.

I will be using the gen5diy harness which is a pre made harness that plugs into the low beams. When low beams come on it triggers the relay and turns the Fog lights on.

Those look good!

Glad you’ve got the fog lamp wiring situated.

If you decide to install the full function DL3 mirrors, I make a harness that will add circuits for the puddle lamp, turn signal and auto dim features. Mirror fold can be done as well.

Just did it. Getting some of the upper clips back in was the hard part.

Yup, having smaller hands helped with those upper clips.

Where can the mirrors be purchased?

eBay is likely the most economical route. You may find some for sale on the forum.

I’d also encourage you to look at the Escalade mirrors. They have a larger surface area. Much easier to see out of and safer in my opinion. One of the best mods I’ve done.

Finished the fog lights. Damn these stock bulbs are underwhelming. Can anyone recommend a plug and play led bulb? Part number or link would be appreciated.

For anyone interested in doing this project using the gen5diy harness be advised that the way it works is that when the headlights come on, the fog lights come on. There is no switch to turn them off. I liked the harness because it was completely plug and play which made for a very clean installation. Overall, I am satisfied.

Also, of note, I used yellow laminx-x fog light film as I prefer a yellow fog light.

@Tk59194 do you have any pics of the fog light connectors or the end of the bulb it plugs into on your application?

The GM schematics aren’t clear.

For example, I have a 2015.5 Yukon, and it uses this fog lamp connector.

But the upfitter lists this connector.

It doesn’t fit the PSX26W bulb.

Thanks. I thought that might be the case.

Good looking pics.

Looks great, I want to do the same thing to my 2019. Does yours have the adaptive cruise control? I saw somewhere that this could be an issue.
