First things first, I replaced the stock head unit with a Joying 7" RK3188 Android Head Unit. I used the Metra DP300-2B Double Din Dash instead of hacking up the dash. I had to trim it a little on the sides because the Joying is an ISO size headunit. Came out pretty good. I also replaced the Front Speakers with Polk Audio DB6501 components, the Rear Speakers with Polk Audio DB651S coaxials, and added 2 Pioneer TS-W3003D4 12" subs in a front firing box behind the 3rd row. everything was run off a Rockford Fosgate R600X5 5 Channel amp mounted under the 2nd row.

How did you get you head unit to line up? Did you have to make your own brackets?

Nice work so far!
Thanks!

Nice looking truck man!the progress is awesome! That black paint is killer! Looks fantastic! Have you considered solo matching your fender flares?
Thanks! I thought about color matching the fender flares, and I might one day, but I'm ok with the slight contrast right now.

I used the Metra DP-3002B Double DIN Dash Kit and it came with everything. It works for 00-02 Tahoes. I just had to trim it a little because the head unit I have is an ISO mount so it's larger than the standard US ones.

Is that Joying HU Android based?
how is your experience/feedback with it?
I always want one but not so sure about if it can handle TX heat and not so speedy boot up.
Actually, I have been eyeing on 8 inch or even 10 inch variants. (Maybe it is not from Joying)

And what year HD Tow mirror did you get?
Mine is 2002 and also seeking for some tow mirrors for better visibility.

Yeah it's Android based and I love it. It's had no problems in the Texas heat and the startup is not bad at all, maybe 20-30 seconds tops. I hardly even notice it and the backup cam comes on even before it finishes booting anyway. I also installed Malaysk custom rom which makes it even better. Here's the mirrors https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I60H9XQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

I also finally got up the nerve to drill holes in my roof for the smoked led cab/running lights that I've been wanting to install for a while now. For some reason I accidentally ordered white, so I didn't get to properly seal it up until I get the amber leds in later today. I'll post some night pics later today.

Haha, nah I got the ones that have replaceable bulbs. I've had bulbs go out too many times in lights that come with built-in LEDs. For instance, my 3rd brake light had a bulb or two go out after a month or so. I wish they were color changing, though.

Edit: I've also heard from a few people that they've been pulled over for having the white cab lights on. Evidently the man frowns upon such a thing? At least here in Texas.

Yea I'm all about having the option to change bulbs as you can tell in my build thread with most my light projects lol.

White illegal ? I think it's an excuse to pull someone over. Did they get a ticket?

It's because they're forward facing.
