Just did my diff gear oil changeout for the first time. Not knowing the history, so why not. Anyways, put 3 quarts of Amsoil 75/90 Severe Gear oil in her.

Drain plug is a torx and the fill plug is a standard 1/2" that you have on your ratchet.

Easy job as my 3/4 ton, even stock, didn't require a jack. Plenty of room.

I put 3 quarts in and used the bent torx wrench to verify i was about 1" from the top of the fill plug. I pulled out a little more of the old stuff, maybe 3.1-3.2 quarts.

Had a 80psi tire blowout on my left rear pulling my 7,000 pound Toy Hauler thru the desert. Not a good experience with my family on board. Sounded like an M80 went off and my hauler was swaying. You could see a little smoke coming off the tires. Pretty much shattered my fender flare and put a huge dent in the body. Yikes!

Also, replaced the left rear caliper as that experience must have damaged the caliper somehow as I got some binding at times.

Seems to be all good now, hopefully.

Glad everyone is alright-but that tire looks bad low tread and different than the front tires.I would guess that tire was on the front before because the inside of it looks bald and that will only happen with a front tire.
