GM basically told me they won't issue a recall because it's not a safety issue.

My Yukon finally got fixed last week after waiting 2 months. Even though my bumper to bumper warranty is expired I was able to negotiate with my dealer for them to cover the costs. All I had to pay was about $250 for the condenser, much better than the initial $1200.

I've replaced the condenser on my '15 myself, recharged, blew ice cold. 3 days later, nothing. Put gauges back on it, charge is good, compressor is working, blows luke warm, not hot..I'm about to lose it with this thing. Been dealing with this since the beginning of July.

My Ac goes out on 2015 and starts working randomly

My Ac goes out on my 2015 Tahoe randomly blows hot and then I bring it to dealer, they can't find a problem because it starts working again. I checked online and people have been complaining on Edmunds about same issues. If you know what it is, please tell me so I can get it fixed. It's 100 degrees in Louisiana and I never know when I will have AC.

My 2005 had this prob, it was 2 of the actuators in the a/c plenum. Had to pull the dash to get at them and then the dealer had to recalibrate them.

Mine's fixed, hopefully.

Replaced the condenser couple of weeks ago, started blowing warm again..said f'it, dropped it off at the dealer. Replaced a line that runs from compressor that was cracked..$450 later, let's hope THIS is it lol.

This happened to me a few times and I just shut the system down for a few minutes and then turned it back on (not on Auto) and it came back on. Would not blow cold air unless I did it that way. It happened a few times over a 2-week stretch and hasn't happened since. Not sure what happened.

Add me to the list of leaking condensers. 2015 Yukon XL no AC yesterday on our way up to the lake. Checked it out this morning leaks pretty obvious. Driver side of the condenser. Think I found a cracked exhaust manifold too. 20170904_090731.jpg 20170904_090731.jpg 20170904_091017.jpg 20170904_090731.jpg 20170904_091017.jpg

2015.5 XL Denali in Minnesota w/ 53K just stopped blowing cold. Going to give the dealership a shot at it. Maybe a service bulletin covers it but I doubt it. I anticipate replacing the condenser on my own to start, then try find that cross threaded line, and on and on from there... GM seams to have gotten really quiet on this thread...hmmm. All I want to know is what I have to fix to be done with this issue but wonder if this is just the beginning of a nightmare... Has anyone fixed theirs successfully?

Just ran into this issue with my 2015 Tahoe, with only 34,000 miles. From everything I have read, I guess I will be buying an aftermarket condenser and doing the work myself. This is my 2nd Tahoe, and this one has been a huge disappointment. From wind sounds on the highway to no air conditioning. How can GM not take care of this issue? Makes me want to go out and buy a Kia!!

Going to do this thing myself. Dealership service department wanted $160 just to hook it up and check it.
Now I'm shopping for the condenser. Which one is bulletproof and where can I get it? Or are all condensers created equal unless they say GM or Delco on them?

I was really surprised to see this letter below about this. I don't have the problem but after reading for the past few months I was nervous would happen to my Yukon. Needless to say for those that had the repair done least you could get your money back. Finally a useful letter.

^^^ how did you get that letter?
I bought a new 2016 Yukon last year so I'm assuming they sent it based on the purchase. I left out the part with my name address and gm logo lol. Came in the mail Yesterday. Was pretty surprised given they usually tell customers to pound sand.

Hey everyone, if you're fed up with waiting for your dealer to get you a condenser, the local Pep Boys here in Knoxville TN has 15 of them available for approx. $150. He also told me that the Pep Boys distribution warehouse in TX has 50 of them in stock. The condenser is made by Spectra in Canada, comes with a 2 year warranty and is a direct fit for the 2015 GMC Yukon/Tahoe 5.3L engine. I plan on having mine installed and will send the bill to GM. If you want to buy one from the Pep Boys here in Knoxville, call Travis @ 865-690-2777. Tell him I told you about them and hopefully he can take care of you. I'm not getting any financial incentive from him for this information. Just trying to look out for my fellow Yukon/Tahoe owners!

It is Customer Service Satisfaction Campaign 17336-01 entitled Special Coverage - Combi Cooler Air Conditioner Refrigerant Leak. It is applicable to 2015-2017 Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoe’s, GMC Yukons and Yukon XLs and Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs.

It looks like letters are being issued this month and it will extend the warranty period for the particular failure type (crack at the coupler) to 5 years/60,000 miles for Chevrolet and GMC and 6 years/72,000 miles For Cadillac.

I got that letter a couple of days ago and took it to the dealership that fixed my AC condenser. They had charged me $300 for the fix back in May (that was a discount. The actual cost was over $1K).

The service agent entered some info in the computer and told me if GM approves it I will get a check in the mail in 2 weeks.

Got my letter in the mail yesterday- I don't have the issue, but I have a scheduled appointment for next week for the Disco lights and buffering- so might as well
