Finally ordered some floor mats. Went with some cheapo Motor Trend "heavy duty" mats from Walmart. I know, I know...

I looked at the Rugged Ridges, and a bunch of other ones, but I couldn't justify spending that much for a piece of rubber. If I had a new Yukon it'd be a different story, but the truck is 17 years old, it's lucky it's getting anything new.

I'm looking for floor liners too. Craigslist Dallas is coming up squat. Several posts with pieces for newer Tahoes '12+ but they are asking like $200 something ridiculous..for USED floor mats!!

So over the past two days, I gave the Tahoe the "new" car maintenance it deserved:
- Trans fluid + filter
- Rear brake pads + 1 seized caliper
- Front and rear differential fluid
- Spark plugs
- Greased all Zerk fittings
- Toyed around with the dimmer switch, gauge cluster and rear window regulator

That's putting a dent in it. Did you have any trouble with the trans drain plug? I couldn't break mine loose with hand tools. Don't go putting a 12-point socket on that dude

So I removed the push bar and I really dislike the lower valance. I'm going to go back factory. I noticed that the hoop behind the grill has no paint on it. I will touch up all that while I have it apart.

I kind of like that lower valance. I've never heard of the regency edition. Is that valance part of that package?

I replaced my spark plug wires, cost me $25 on Amazon. Not too shabby

Next, I'm thinking about upgrading to 20 inch wheels and I seen Cadillac stock wheels/tires for $650. Is it a good deal?

Thats probably an ok deal, depends on condition, style, and tires?

Jacked up the front end to alleviate the load on the t-bars, and de-cranked them 2 1/2 turns each. Brought the front end down to 39 1/4" on each side, don't have any more room to lower them, the key is in contact with the bar that the bolt goes through on the passenger side.
Rear is still at 40" both sides, don't mind a little rake.... but absolutely HATE seeing 3"+ rake! Most FS Chevy/GMC pickups around here look assinine, unless they are the High Country edition.

Will most likely add the 3" Zone Body Lift I have before putting the 275/65/20 Falken Wildpeak's on, the BL will hide most of the rake. AND it will look badass, fender heights at 43" or so....

Didn't even bother with it. Just loosened all the bolts but the 4 corners. Then loosened the front two and let it drip until it was manageable.

I guess I could have used my large breaker bar, but I figured the way I did it would be stress free too.

Ight. Your way doesn't sound too bad.

Got a USB/aux input, finally installed it in that little button/pocket area. The radio only came with a USB wire, but I like having the aux, too. Decided this was a good place to put it and drilled it out with a hole saw.

I'm not sure. I'm still researching that. The valance is fiberglass. Maybe the reason I don't like it is the blue lights.

Got a little more work done. The people who stole the truck took the speaker guards and left two of four Kicker components. Wtf? I had to pull the door panels to fix that. Since I had the panels pulled I installed some painted door handles on one side. Also I took of the Regency faded logo and pen stripe.

I pick up fender flares hopefully tomorrow. I'm having the bumper cap and flares color matched. Also having the mirrors repainted.

Sorry for the crappy pics... I will get some better ones when I give it a good bath.

You might see what remains of the step. The truck only had one. Then it wouldn't fit on the trailer cause it hit the step. So I am in the field I'm trying to get these bolts to break free. I could only get two of three broke loose. I ended up ripping the step off where there was rust holes.

Here is my dilemma... the valance is chipped and needs painted. Do I want to repair and paint the valance or put on the factory one from the 06. I also have fog lights. Then sell the Regency valance and recoup some cash??

Hmm. I personally would keep the regency valance, helps make it look a little more unique. Plus if you're gonna sell it I'd still repair it, might give you more profit in the end

I might leave it for now and mess with later. By then it might grow on me. I will have most of the interior parts by Friday. So I have quite a few little things to take care of before that.

Installed an Aero Turbine 3.5" in/out muffler. This thing is LOUD. Actually louder than straight pipes. Perfect compliment to the headers.I love it.
Edit: I just added a short video of start-up and punch of the throttle for those interested.

What makes a truck a regency? Were there any interior upgrades as well?
The door panels have leather trim panels. The seats are different. The head rest are totally different. It also had a TV and antenna for local channels. All that was stripped when stolen. I'm going back with a factory console and no TV. Oh it also has what looks like house carpet.
