I think I've seen ones where the plasma is a C instead of a U that looked pretty badass.
I think the C is only for GMT900 Tahoes and Suburbans...

If you get them on Amazon, you can get them for about $280 with prime shipping:
Black: http://a.co/aMQqLAp
Chrome: http://a.co/bexevGI

If I hadn't just bought a new smartwatch that I've had my eye on (30% on prime day), I'd be buying a set of them.

ok, RedRocket said my factory sub and amp is under the left rear plastics. Let's check it out!

wait.. umm.

hmm, maybe it's on the other side

nope. thats the rear AC. haha, i guess someone took it all out.

oh well, i still need to trace down these damn wires for the front and rear doors. i already have like 3/4 of all the plastic panels pulled off. seems like the wires all keep going into big junction plugs. i actually removed the climate control and noticed a bundle of speaker wires. i might be on to something here!

d87.jpg

keep pulling plastics and what do we have here?

d88.jpg

i guess theres an AMP under the center console. which is where they tapped into it. basically THIS IS WHY i had no speakers. Amen, marked and labeled them. Then i ran out of time. this was frustrating. gettin there

Maybe they changed location in the 03 for subs and amp? Is it under the console?

maybe there (was) 2. it looks like there WAS a factory sub/amp on the rear left. but it looks like someone removed it. this thing had a big stereo at some point. and an alarm. spaghetti everywhere. i just need to rewire up the new deck and i think all will work now. but yes, there is an amp/junction under the center console.

I have a Bose center console that came with an amp and sub with box in it.

I think you can see some of the amp wiring under the console.

This is the factory sub. I have it wired into my existing system. Sounds OK.

This is the factory box the sub came in. It fires forward, towards the firewall, under the console.

so interesting how they (GM) do all these slightly different configurations. even your armrest/console is completely different than mine. and man i coulda swore the bass was coming from the rear the whole time on the other deck. i couldnt believe it was empty! haha

so thats not the console you are using in your Tahoe?

I originally had the jump seat but swapped to this console. Parts stickers in the console said it's from a 2003 Tahoe with Bose. When I bought it, it had the sub and amp in it already.

So interesting how they are all different. I know mine has a sub under my console, cuz I've always got either my phone or iPad hooked to my stereo Bluetooth and have music going and can feel them hum from the sub under my console and cup holders! I'd be curious to see if my amp is there too or if mine is under rear plastics.

it looked like mine was removed from the rear. i see the shelf the amp sat on with screw holes and you can see the factory dynamat on the side wall hump. my Denali has stories it hasn't told me :)

03+ I believe they all come under the center console. GM just continued to make it appear as if it was still in the rear left of the vehicle that way they didn't have to change the plastic mold. I know my 04 had it under the center console but my buddy's 02 had it in the rear left

The 02 Denali I pulled the sub from also had it in the left rear. I already posted that pic. That setup sounded amazing!

Here's my 06. Never opened it up, but no way there's a sub there. Totally sealed. On a side note, that's not a magnet, THIS is a magnet....

As long as your bottle cap makes it within about 14 inches......
