My 5 Alarm Hoe

So I'm not really a fan of how the Esky drives with the new suspension that was put in...this is where the wheels start spinning in my head. My new plan is to fix the Hoe since she only has 97k miles and the Esky has 180k but runs great...I'm going to remove all the parts from the Esky and swap them into the Hoe like the nice and comfy(power & heated) leather seats compared to my uncomfortable manual seats, pretty much a full interior swap including the dash and door panels...this is the perfect opportunity to rip out the nasty carpet and install the new black molded carpet I bought a while ago

I finally figured out why the Hoe has been idling very rough, it seems the intake manifold has a hair line crack in it which is throwing all sorts of codes, also some sort of vacuum leak from one of the hoses.

Does anyone know if I can swap the intake manifold and throttle body from the Esky onto the Hoe to save a few bucks? A new AC Delco intake manifold for the Hoe is about $500... Not sure since the Hoe has the 5.3 and the Esky has the 6.0 engine

If the engine and trans are good in the Esky why not do a 6.0 swap in the Tahoe?

I've been thinking about swapping the engine out as well...I don't think I'm mechanically inclined enough to tackle that sort of project, I'll have to price it out and see if it's within my new budget of saving extra $ for a new house

Or you could always sell the Tahoe and use that money to redo the suspension on the Escalade correctly, cause with the right setup they ride great

I actually prefer the look of the Hoe over the Esky...the front end looks meaner if that makes any sense lol. I'm giving the Esky to my buddy till I move into the new house, I don't have room for 4 trucks in my congested neighborhood...sick and tired of listening to my neighbors ***** about how I take up too many spots

Yes you are, you can do it easily...with all the stuff youve done, its really not that hard brother...

Apparently everything on the exterior of these motors are the same.... so ive read/heard...so yes should swap no prob

I actually agree with you...front of the esky of those years looks square and narrow compared to a tahoe....imo

Yes you can. They're all the same externally, including the throttle body. I'd swap out the complete 6.0 if it were me. Yank it, do a little maintenance, maybe a cam....... Hmmmmm... DO IT!!!!

I'm no mechanic by any means...I wasn't sure if the engine parts were interchangeable between the 2 engines. The 6.0 definitely has more power and runs a lot better than the 5.3 which is constantly stalling on me...I refuse to drive her long distances the way it's running now as to not have a repeat experience of almost slamming into another truck

My wife actually likes the Esky compared to (in her words) that big monstrosity Tahoe lol

Thanks for the kind words brother...it's been a little hectic looking for a new truck, looking for a new house and working round the clock

Hopefully I'll find a nice clean truck soon and go back to modding

No, sorry bro. 3-4 years ago when my kids were smaller i would of told you to get them trucks up here and we could have done it together. I have the hoist, crappy little engine stand, air tools etc..... i just cant handle that and running around with all the kids crap going on plus my own stuff i cant keep up with...plus my wife wouldnt have it..sorry brother....

How about swapping the fenders, hood, grill etc from the hoe to the lade...... thats just parts and it all should bolt up...... best of both worlds.... then take a caddy emblem and slap it on the hoe grill.....

I've read that's not a direct swap. Brackets are completely different. Not a direct swap, but supposedly can be done with a lot of work.
