Oh the Z-71 wheels! I really dig those, what depth are they? I'm wanting to get some wider, meatier tires when I get my lift, And I don't want to run into any issues.
17x7.5 and 31mm offset

I always use https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/ to make sure everything fits. Just measure with your current set-up, and input the sizes you want.

the 7.5 should hold a 305 tire without problem

Hmm. I'll think about it. Honestly I've been thinking about using some Soft 8-style wheels because I really like the look of those on NBSs.

Just dropped my truck off at the tranny shop. Shift solenoids took a shit on me. I lost 1,2, & R.

Well chances are it's the Sunshield and some other shit inside affecting reverse. So COMPLETE rebuild here we come! New clutches 5 planetary, shift kit, and what not. $2000

Is there anything else I should ask for while they're in it?

Have you priced out a new 4L80? If it's a comparable price, then you might want to swap to that haha.

Which "shift kit" specifically?

Sonnax "smartshell" or the "beastshell"

Close ratio input carrier.

Just a few days late but Saturday I replaced my passenger side wheel bearing after realizing it was the front diff making all the grinding. I had posted already about doing the 4x4 delete. Well Monday on my way to work the driver side bearing completely exploded at about 75mph taking me for a 3 wheel brake less ride towards the ditch and my wheel, caliper, and rotor went towards oncoming traffic. Luckily it didn't hit anything and I'm good also. If the 4x4 were still in the truck I wouldn't have lost the wheel with the cv axle as a fail safe but it made me think. On the 2wd trucks there is no fail safe. Do not neglect your bearings. Now I'm going to be checking them all periodically. The driver side gave me no warnings as far as sounds or shaking so don't just wait for that to know it's broken.

Also a question for the 4wd guys; has anyone converted from the pushbutton 4wd to the manual shift 4wd? Just an idea bouncing around in my head :D

Hub assy of course
Pads and rotor
Caliper bracket
And hose.

I expected the lower ball joint to be trashed but it was almost as it it were un-touched. I think it just had so much junk caked up on it that it was protected lol.
