Ok so I just bought a Yukon that has 165k on it and it runs great! Just curious how many miles you guys have on your trucks and how strong the motors still are....mostly concerned about the 5.3L motor cause that's what I have.
180k on mine, purchased with 150k

doesn't burn any oil, I run Mobil1 0W20, and a K&N drop in filter, and it runs like a brand new truck.

So after more thought I changed my mind and purchased an 04 Yukon XL 2500 6.0L. It has 172k on it right now. The motor doesnt have as much power as i thought it was gonna have, so I think it might have a small issue. Gonna get it on a scanner and see whats up. Either way i'm happy with my purchase.

I put a down payment on that one while I was waiting to get my insurance situated. I have a lot of points on my license and I explained that to the guy I was buying from. He said that if I couldn't get insurance he'd refund my money. So I found this other one in the meantime and I jumped on it.

167,000 on my 04, 5.3. Only engine issue was the intake manifold gasket leaking. Common issue and not a hard or expensive fix.
It's the transmission on these that you have to worry about. I've had 2 on a well maintained vehicle. Granted I towed quite often but well within the stated vehicles specs.

I've only put 2k miles on my ride since I bought it in mid November, so 118,300 miles on a 2001 yukon

Just bought a 2001 Tahoe 5.3L with 95k miles...so far I've replaced the coils, fuel injectors, plugs, wires, synthetic oil change, drained all fluids except for the rear differential. All interior/exterior lights have been swapped out to LED, new black wheels with 33'' Mickey Thompson MTZ's...K&N cold air intake etc.

The Tahoe is running just as good as my other brand new truck, hopefully I'll get another 10-15 years out of it

What made you change the coil packs and injectors? Just curious...also how much did it run you?

When I bought the truck it was running very rough and rich, the dash board looked like a Christmas tree. I hooked up my obd2 scanner and saw it was mis firing on 2 cylinders, needed a new oxygen sensor along with some other issues.

I bought everything on amazon-Amazon.com: Four New OEM ACDelco Ignition Coils D585 10457730 UF262 C1251 BSC1251 19279910: Automotive

The rear rotors and pads are pretty much shot, I'm going to replace all 4 rotors, calipers, pads, stainless steel break lines but I'm not sure if this set will fit?Amazon.com: Power Stop KC2015-36 Z36 1-Click Truck and Tow Brake Kit (with Carbon-Ceramic Pads, Drilled and Slotted Rotors and Powder Coated Calipers): Automotive

If you're replacing the front rotors and calipers, now would be the time to upgrade to the NNBS front brakes. It's all bolt-on and upgrades the front to 13" rotors instead the 12" you now have. Here's a link to a thread on it. I linked to page 1, since you might want to read it all. There are part numbers in there also. I did it and it was a big difference and it won't cost you anything more than what you have planned.
