Riding and handling good are subjective. It has been a bit rough for me over the past few months and I often have 2+ people riding with me since I have the largest vehicle of all my friends. That being said, we have a trip to Gatlinburg coming up and last year it scrubbed and jarred us to death. I figured I'd bite the bullet and go back to what works.
.
Interesting. I think it must be your shocks or springs and not so much anything to do with spindles etc. especially since drop spindles don't change any suspension dynamics and if you have quality rear drop springs you shouldn't notice a difference. Oh well, best of luck.

I've thought about that as well. It's probably the rear belltech springs. I knew that if I changed the rear, I'd have to change the spindles. By doing the front first, I can get a feel for how the front and rear impact the ride separately instead of as the whole package.

Got my new tires this weekend. Last part of my lift project (The whole point of the lift was to be able to run 285/75/16's.)

My original plan was to go with the old tried-and-true BFG AT KO2's but after looking around at other options I decided I'd try something a little less expensive. Went with a relatively new tire on the market, Falken Wildpeak AT3W. The thing I liked about it was that it has both an aggressive AT design and also the "severe weather" mountain/snowflake rating for snowy and icy roads. Since my 'Burb is a "winter taxi" as well as a trailer tug, that was important to me.

Here she sits in the driveway with the new tires on. I have to say, I like the stance. Would like it if it was a bit higher in the front but I'm not willing to crank the T-bars any higher and risk premature wear to the CV joints.

I was afraid the it would look weird going back to 16's from the 17's it had on it before. I'm not a huge fan of the "cyclone" or "hurricane" wheels but IMO they look better on the truck than they do sitting on the ground, and they're in better shape than my 17's were (which had some nasty salt corrosion on them) so I'll keep them for the forseeable future.

EDIT: Notice that the lower corner of the air dam gets close to the tires. I may look into trimming that back just a bit. Any recommendations for how to do that?

Simple and clean. White letters out wouldve looked great with the white paint

Wagner coated rotors and thermoquiet pads on the rear. Will do the fronts next week after I order them. The rear caliper bolts had already been removed to fix some axle seals so it was cake. I doubt I'll get that lucky on the fronts. Time for the torch!

I need to snap and post some pics of one of my rear rotors I took off. It's scored completely around...almost like a rock got stuck between the pad/rotor at some point. It's about 5mm deep and there's a raised spot on the pad. Must have happened some time ago.

New Black Widow Venom 250 muffler and Flowmaster exhaust tip. Sounds awesome, I just wanna drive with the windows down next to wall all day now! Sounds slightly like a Flowmaster but raspier and more aggressive. Turns heads on start up. Might post a video.View attachment 69710
Please snap some pics of the finished install. I've been eyeing that muffler as well and wanted to see how it was welded in. Did you go with a center in/center out? Didn't look like they had a center in dual out like my stock one.

Changed my oil ahead of schedule so I won't have to do it in the dead of winter. Got to use my Femco quick drain for the first time. Emptied my catch can and was surprised how oil much was in there.

Threw on bilstein 4600's and hellwig sways...Massive difference! I do wish the 4600's were stiffer, but so far I'm enjoying the controlled comfort.

LED headlights? I just installed mine. I love them over halogen. I see a lot of hate on the headlight junkies fb page but I love them so far.
