I put my stickers on a piece of clear static cling vinyl (the same material used by lube shops) and placed them over the tint. As they expire, I would replace the vinyl with a new piece.

I had my windshield tinted 50% the rest of my windows are 5%. I took the windshield tint off. It was took dark at night I even have HID's and it still wasn't the best idea to have that dark of tint.

I wish it was that easy for me, once I get it done i'll have two years to enjoy it then I gotta go back and get inspected again. They put the stickers on

Ha thats funny in Ohio we have a medical exemption law for tints. My neighbor is an eye doctor was kind enough to diagnose me with "glare problems" so I am able to legally tint all my windows as dark as I want. I have only been pulled over for tints a handful of times and its worked like a charm every time.

Do you get harrassed much in boca? I lived in boca for a couple years and had my denali down there with windshield tint and 5% all around and never once got pulled over for tint.

More info on this please? Google doesn't pull up anything...

I have 5% over my stock 20% in the rear. Front doors are 20% and just put 5% over that so it matches the rear and I have 35% on the entire front windshield...

Not in Boca, they all know me or my father so no worries there but the second I cross into broward or dade county the road patrol cops stop me at practically every traffic light. They do tend to get a little pissed because most of them have never seen or heard of it, they call it in to verify and their superior tells them to let me go so then I end up with an improper equipment ticket for my tails. Oh well

Where in Boca did you live?
I'm off military and camino

Here's a copy from another post I had about this subject......

In florida you can apply for a state sunscreening exemption! You get a Dr. to sign the application and submit it to the state with around $5 to $10 and your allowed to have your windows tinted as dark as you want!! My windows are 5% and my windshield is 35% with a 5% strip! I've had mine exemption going on 4 years and I get stopped all the time for my tint but I have never got a window tint ticket....instead they break my balls and give me a $72 unsafe equipment ticket for my tinted taillights!

I would google search your states statutes....ie. "Your State" sunscreening exemption, before I would go pulling my tint off and replacing it with something I will not be happy with!

Here is the link for my fellow Floridians......
http://www.lupus.org/webmodules/weba...0Exemption.pdf

Here is the Florida Statute:

Chapter 316 STATE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL
316.29545 Window sunscreening exclusions; medical exemption; certain law enforcement vehicles exempt.--

(1) The department shall issue medical exemption certificates to persons who are afflicted with Lupus or similar medical conditions which require a limited exposure to light, which certificates shall entitle the person to whom the certificate is issued to have sunscreening material on the windshield, side windows, and windows behind the driver which is in violation of the requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957. The department shall provide, by rule, for the form of the medical certificate authorized by this section. At a minimum, the medical exemption certificate shall include a vehicle description with the make, model, year, vehicle identification number, medical exemption decal number issued for the vehicle, and the name of the person or persons who are the registered owners of the vehicle. A medical exemption certificate shall be nontransferable and shall become null and void upon the sale or transfer of the vehicle identified on the certificate.

(2) The department shall exempt all law enforcement vehicles used in undercover or canine operations from the window sunscreening requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957.

(3) The department may charge a fee in an amount sufficient to defray the expenses of issuing a medical exemption certificate as described in subsection (1).

My 30% front two windows are sometimes difficult to see out of, so I would think that any darker than that is tough for the windshield

sooo... this has me thinking.. co says this..
---
(1) (a) Except as provided in this paragraph (a), no person shall operate any
motor vehicle registered in Colorado on which any window, except the
windshield, is composed of, covered by, or treated with any material or
component which presents an opaque, nontransparent, or metallic or mirrored
appearance in such a way that it allows less than twenty-seven percent light
transmittance. The windshield shall allow seventy percent light transmittance.
The provisions of this paragraph (a) shall not apply to the windows to the rear
of the driver, including the rear window, on any motor vehicle; however, if
such windows allow less than twenty-seven percent light transmittance, then the
front side windows and the windshield on such vehicles shall allow seventy
percent light transmittance.
---

i'm taking it that i could "legally" put a 70ish percent tint over the entire windshield.. meaning 30% of light is blocked... do they even make tint in that %..?
