I just bought a new Garmin Dash Cam (model 20 with GPS), going to install it right next to the rear view mirror. The power cord that is provided has the lighter plug-in and I had that with my last dash cam, kind of a PITA plugging it in when you start and un-plugging it when you park. Ran the cord across the top of the windshield, down the A-Pillar under the dash and it hung next to the lighter plug.

The new power plug is short to reach the lighter plug and I would rather find a way to have the dash cam get power when I start up the vehicle and shut off power to the new dash cam when I stop.

I looked at the fuse panel along the side of the dash on the drivers die, don't see any Ignition Auxilary power source? On some of my older Chevies, the fuse panel has a spade that provides a 12V source when the key is turned to the run position and turns off the 12V power to that spade when turned off. Makes it easy when you want to add a device to turn on when you start the vehicle.

I found a power cord for this Garmin Dash Cam that is 10' in length and has wires to connect to a 12V power source rather than the lighter plug at the end.

Anyone know if there is a 12 Auxilary Ignition source in this vehicle?

I'm sure there is. And I found one under the cup holders but I have no idea what the wire is for. I can post pics if the location suits you

What wire did you use? I thought I found one under the cup holders in the center console that had power when the ignition was on and off when the ignition was off, hooked up the dashcam power wire to it and it was intermittent, so I think it was for something that went on/off when the ignition was on?

Wondering what wire you found/used? Pic would be great.

Under dash below the bcm is a panel. Open the cover and take a test
Light. Probe for power with key off and on. This is where I found a power source for my wideband gauge
