This has been going on with millions of vehicles from many manufacturers and the list keeps getting longer. Takata has stated it will take years to replace all these airbags. GM is in line and is doing the same as other manufacturers as far as replacements. Others have also started by recalling vehicles in the high-risk areas first and then adding more as time goes on. It's Takata that needs to be jammed up. They knew about problems years and years ago and kept building the same defective crap.

Y*uck Takata.

We got our letter last week. The letter reads 'you are not in danger', which points to GM not thinking it's an issue, but replacing the bag, just in case it becomes one down the road.

Waiting for the letter telling us to bring it in now.

I got mine last week. I need my catalytic converters replaced, so i guess i will have them take care of that, and maybe do my transmission under warranty at the same time.

Got my letter a month ago and it said the same thing as its not endangering anyone, just wait for you to be issued an actual recall.

I have the drivers and passenger side recalled on my Acura. Went to Acura, they gave me a rental car on the spot. This was 3 weeks ago. I know other Acura people who have had a rental for 2-3 months.

I think if you read it, yours is for the passenger side airbag. The letter states it's save for you to DRIVE. It says nothing about being safe to have a passenger in the seat. A guy at my work called GM and asked about this and was told he could not get anything in writing saying it was ok to have a passenger in that seat and they would not give him a rental cause it's "safe for him to drive"

Thats exactly what it said @NathanJax, safe for me to drive. Never said a thing about passengers that i know of. My gf is in there with me not too often so im not too concerned. At least its not the backseats where the kids are, then i would actually try and talk to someone. (not that the gf isnt important)
