Yukon Denali headlight question....

There is a piece of weatherstripping that runs along the outside of the headlight between the fender and light assembly glass. I took my truck in for service and pointed out that the rubber had become partially detached. The fix by the dealership was to simply cut the loose piece off. I plan to return to the dealer to argue the fix but I was wondering if anyone knows if this strip is its own part or if its included with the full headlight assembly? I checked GM Parts Direct and they don't show the part at all.

I'm just trying to figure out what to tell the dealership when I return. My gut feeling is if the piece wasn't needed then GM would not have put it on at the factory.
