Man I am still waiting but GMs ability to scale and meet the minimum order requirements is embarrassing for an automaker of their size. COVID started almost 3 years ago, stop with the excuses.

A freaking Toyota Corolla that retails in the $20s has wireless charging, adaptive cruise, etc and they can't do it for their flagship vehicles?

Dude, it isn't excuses. There truly is a significant issue w/ availability of semiconductors. I am in an industry heavily reliant on them, we are seeing lead times of 3-4x what they were pre-pandemic, in some cases as long as 60 weeks. This is not the car manufacturers alone (although one could argue toward building designs to offer that have fewer semiconductors -- and I am sure this will eventually happen).

The issues are complex, exacerbated by a few things, but this article does a pretty good job of outlining the issues...I know it sucks, but it is an issue that hits more than cars...don't just ***** about GM sucking, its truly a global issue. Educate yourself about it a little. And, if it suits you, go buy that Corolla.

Dude, it's an excuse when their competitors have found ways to overcome these shortages.

No one is doubting the shortage, I'm doubting their strategy on how they are handling it. This is a forum about GMs and a thread about constraints, why would I not **** here? I appreciate your 'education' but GMs strategy is lacking.

GM has handled this worse than most manufactures. They chose to make more cars and piss off customers while increasing prices than to make less cars equipped as they should be at this price point. Then there is the topic or quality control, and big issues not resolved.

I sent an email to my dealer asking if my order will be affected by this. Not a super big deal I guess but something you shouldn't have to compromise on with a $80K vehicle.

I just talked to my inventory manager about this. He said the memo from GM implies that "some trims may not be affected", but it doesn't give any indication on what those trims might be. His feeling was that I probably won't get it on my build and if I want, I can put my order on hold until it is available. He has another customer putting their order on hold for this very reason. But considering there is no "end date" as to when this will be available, I told him I need to move forward. I think this really sucks but I kind of need to get something in the next few months. Maybe I'll luck out and get it since I have a Denali ordered, but I probably have to assume that I won't.

They are likely to defeature lower trims before yours...but its possible you coudl lose it.
Honestly, I have only used my wireless charger about twice. It depends on your habits, and how often you use and have to charge yoru phone.
I have taken 4 hour road trips and never removed my phone from my pocket, used car-play all the way, and ran the battery till evening, never killed the phone.
Your Mileage May Vary...

Does “no retrofit” mean they won’t pay for it to be added later and that it’s not possible to be added later?

"no retrofit" means that GM will not add it at n/c when the constraint is lifted.
I doesnt seem like it would be too tough to do aftermarket...the power for the usb's are a couple inches away.
I saw somewhere on the forum that someone has added it to the recessed area in the center arm rest.

Oh good to know - I have a 23 Yukon Denali on order to replace my '22.... will see what else is missing when it's delivered. I may choose to stick to the '22 then. (Not that wireless charging will make or break the deal, but I'm sure it won't be the only thing missing...

Why should they care? They are selling every Tahoe/Yukon/Esky they can and making tons of profit. These constraints haven't stopped consumers one bit.

I do have the phone charger in the 22 Yukon and it works fine with my iPhone 8.
But what if it takes a crap, I guess I don't have it anymore with parts being so hard to get.

had to refit larger frame for my note10 phone, considerable work.
finally got it done and the charge out put is so small its virtually useless.
cool gimmick, not so much for working in reality.

Just get one of these, literally takes 20 minutes to install, is in a much better location and is a fast charger. All around much better than the factory.

I'm an Apple guy all around and would love to integrate a MagSafe charger ...but got to look clean with no wires. If anyone has done the same, would love to hear input.
