Had anyone had their wipers start juddering after they had their windshield replaced?

Replaced the windshield with only 3000 miles on it at Safelite.

It legitimately a GM OEM windshield, which was required because of the Super Cruise.

The wipers only have 3000 miles on them, so can't imagine they need replacing.

But it'll wipe fine for the first few wipes and slowly start to judder and jump really bad.

Any thoughts?

I wonder if the wiper arms are not quite aligned with the new windshield. Does it do it in both swipe directions, or justone direction? Does it happen during dain, or when using washer fluid?

Both directions.

When I use the washer fluid, it works for the first few swipes, then it starts juddering from small jumps to big jumps.

During rain it judders nonstop unless on high speed.

The install looks new. I can't find anything misaligned or incorrect. Not even a clip missing.

Odd the wipers would be bad at 3k miles.

But I'll swap them.

It's an OEM windshield, I just wonder if they had some type of film or something on them.

I've had wiper blades that shuttered/skipped brand new out of the package. I think it is your blades

Thanks. I'm swapping them today and hopefully it'll rain this weekend.

I can't imagine Safelite did anything to damage the wiper motor or the OEM glass is defective somehow.

Just odd the wipers on the Tahoe had 3000 miles on them and didn't judder for the first 3000 miles even with a crack in the windshield.

Am I the only one here that is wondering the origin of the word "judder"?:) This must be a regional thing? I have never heard this term.

As dad used to say, "Look it up!" ;)

Merriam-Webster knows about it:

I KNOW I sound crazy.

But there's something wrong with this glass or wipers on this 2023.

As I mentioned, the glass was replaced. At 3k miles.

The original 3k old wipers started judder and jumping as soon as they cross the drivers side eye level sections. Basically directly above the HUD display on the glass.

Cleaned the new glass repeatedly and the juddering kept coming back.

Went back to Safelite, they gave me a new set of wiper blades. Safelite brand, nothing special.

The worked with minor squeaking when the swipe past the same spot "the driver eye level/above the HUD".

Today it rained and as soon as it starts swiping fast it squeals hard and loud at the drivers side at about eye level/above the HUD.

Something is wrong with the glass in that section, or I have 2 sets of bad wiper blades.

Is it possible the OEM glass was bad or defective in that spot? Is the wiper not set at the correct degree on the spline? Did they damage the wiper blade motor on the drivers side? Should I get a new set of OEM wiper blades?

Has anyone experienced anything like this after a windshield replacement?

Denatured alcohol is a good glass cleaner, but I still recommend following with Aquapel.
So you all think that this is just a matter of the glass being dirty and needing cleaning, and not a matter of poor quality glass? Defective glass? Or an improper install?

Personally I don't know one piece of glass from another, but I would think that Safelite has good product. I've not had any issues with their glass, although it's been a couple of years since my last replacement.

What does everyone use to pull the wiper arms on the 21± models?
