Im trying to buy some rear springs right NOW!

ok..I wanna lower the back of my truck since I lowered the front..

Can I just buy new springs for now? and install them? Shocks are just for ride quality/comfort right? All I need to do is install the rear springs to actually lower it?

and how easy is it to swap springs? how long does it take? and again, can I use simple hand tools?...can it be done in a parking lot?

what all do I need to buy to lower the back...JUST two new springs? and what brand...DJM? what are they...5 inch? and can I paint them? lol

i would suggest shocks the ones ur have r designed for a certain travel and lowering it will change that you could probably get by for a while but ride quality will be degraded.....

if you have autoride, that will change it up some. I say get shock relocators, new shocks (if not autoride) and Eibach coils. If you don't have a spring compressor, I suggest letting someone do it.

i have the mcgaughys springs ride good, lots of guys on this site use them, you need to change the shocks or get shock ext the shocks limit the travel of the rear end. if you dont use them and the vehicle becomes air born the coils can fall out.
thank you tim

The ride on my 5" springs from djm is solid. Its not really "bouncy" just solid. If you go with a 5" drop, cut the bumpstop brackets out. This will be a great time to do it. I have heard some good things about Mcgauhys. May want to try them out.

i usually get rid of autoride due to the fact that wiht 5 inch rear drop the shocks are way out of their effective range. Its up to you i sent ya a pm on price :)

for 5 inch rear drop i really dont recommened the airride system to stay in. For the rear kit i like the djm one because it comes with new sway bar brakets to keep all that in check which is needed when going so low.

are you set on that?? the djm 3/5 honestly is a good kit and id stick to 2/3 if you want to keep autoride in.

sidenote here is the rear djm kit as you can see it shows why the kit is needed on your truck
