Ha!

When we took the one we have now for a test drive, we had all 4 kids and the salesman knew exactly why we needed it.

I have a big family, enjoy road trips, and desire safety, comfort, and capability. Enough said!

No Kids, but hauling several large bins of relatively expensive scuba gear to and from different locations. I had a C3500, when I had a boat, but I don't have a trailer-able boat any longer, and needed something the taller bins could be secured in (at least overnight, if needed) and when I fold down the 3rd row (which has actually been folded down since I brought it home from the dealer) and the Weathertech long mat in the back, there's not much I can't get into and don't have to worry about damaging the carpeting with the stinky salt water and such. It also makes the perfect vehicle for picking up my brother-in-law, his wife and their three kids when the come to visit. So, it's the "cooler" version of the mini-van.... Ha ha.

I use to tell people who ask that for me that I am getting fat, so I need a big car to fit in with comfort.
true when your 600-700 pounds obs,NBS will haul 600-700 easy as 1.2.3 other wise you need a flat bed trailer and a fork lift

even without her in it the suspension is destroyed she should upgrade to stiffer ones that are PAYLOAD rated

Minivan? LOL, the insanity. It’s one thing for a mom who doesn’t care about cars and only cares about function to drive one. But unless you’re a stay home dad, minivan is a no go imo. You can’t tow, it’s not capable of going off road, it can drive through snow as well as a 4x4 truck, and it’s not even close to comparing in safety to the Suburban’s truck frame protection in an accident.

We can fit full sheets of sheetrock or plywood in the XL Denali. So much better than on the roof or having the place cut it to fit in car.

That's my main reason for having the Yukon XL. I've done a ton of renovation and construction work on my house - and the ability to load a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back means I can go to the lumberyard and pickup sheets of plywood or sheet rock when the weather is lousy and just leave it in the back. Plus the SUV means I can still haul around 7 people inside. I could do some of that with a pickup - if it had an 8ft bed. But to have the people hauling along with the cargo capacity it would have to be a full crew cab plus an 8ft bed - which makes for really long vehicle. Plus you sill couldn't get 7 people inside, and you'd need to have a cap on the bed.
