They aren't just sending me a check. They are getting a tow company to get spares so they can take it to a shop and look at the suspension and alignment to see if there was any damage that can't be seen.

The dealer is not taking care of it. Insurance is and is using a preferred shop to order the new wheels and tires. But today was a fiasco. I was told that the tow company found some tires that would fit and would bring them to roll the Yukon on the flatbed. However, the truck that showed up didn't have the wheels. Even after I told him to stop, he continued to drag the Yukon on the flat bed ruining the front bumper and the rear bumper. So out of all this. I should be getting some new suspension components, bumpers, wheels and tires, and obviously brakes and an alignment. And I think I might even be getting the 916's. I will be having a lengthy conversation with the insurance company as this was a mix up on their part. Had they come at their allotted time yesterday, I would not have inquired as to where the tow truck was. The shop sent their own out but Sprint sucks and is constantly cutting in and out so therefore I never got the name of the company. So when the guy showed up, he sounded almost identical to the other driver and I thought it was the same guy. I made a lot of phone calls before he was to even attempt, but he still didn't stop when I told him to. Some crazy stuff today. I talked to the shop personally, after I followed the guy there to let them know of the situation as well as notified the insurance company. They said to expect a call tomorrow. So we'll see what happens. In the end though, having dealt with my insurance company and my parents dealing with them as well for their own issues, I am sure everything will come out right, or better. Still, it was painful seeing this guy do that to a vehicle.

The law is you are allowed to repair your vehicle at the shop of your choice.

You can buy the wheels of your choice. The insurance can not tell you what wheels to put.

Any tow truck driver that would hook up your vehicle and knew he was damaging it doesn't deserves your business. I suggest you find a shop on your own.

The insurance like to recommend their "pro" shops because they have side deals with them on labor rates n such.

Wish you were on New York. I would have taken care of everything for you.

Most of them use the same key if i remember correctly or most will jam a socket over the locking nut.

I have the gorilla nuts with swivles on them, you can't just jam a socket on these correct?

IDK what would be so hard getting a socket on them. Locking lugs do nothing other than deter the lazy thieves

That lug but is easy to pop off... Like Derek said you get a socks and pop it on with hammer and take off and pop socket off before its out all the way. My del sol had wheel locks and popped em off that way

Quickly tack weld a nut on, boom off in seconds. Like I said it will deter a bit, obviously your average thieve would not do what I said but it easily done I am also sure there are other easier ways.

Where would you weld the nut to, the inside portion of the lugnut? This was why I got the spinning sleeve, I thought it would make it harder to remove. False since of security I guess.

Hell IDK I do not steal wheels just trying to think of ways

If I was wanting to steal your wheels I would bust out the passenger side window and look in your glove box or console for the key as most people leave them there

You put three per wheel you will not need to worry about anyone stealing them because they will pass you on the highway

Just get the shock and tilt sensor likelihood it will happen twice is few unless it was your neighbor who took em.

Back in the day when we would buy new rims we would take a sharpie to the rim on the inside before we mount the tires and put your cell number and a offer for reward if the tire shop is working on the rim on any car other than yours. You will be surprised it works. I have been called before by a tire shop for rims I sold.

A guy changing a tire won't pass on a easy 100.

That's just for selling more expensive. A socket will still go on with a hammer and will still be easily stolen. The outside is what I free spinning which does nothing at all

I would still get the shock sensor. The wheel only senses tilt.
