The horn on my 99 only works when it wants to. It will be fine for a couple weeks, and then it won't work for a couple weeks. The fuse is good, and so is the horn itself, because the horn always chirps when I lock it via the key fob. So what else could be wrong?

More than likely your switch as mentioned previously. If you are going to remove the steering wheel, point the wheels straight ahead, remove the airbag fuse, then disconnect the yellow airbag connector underneath the steering column. Then use a puller to remove the wheel from the column.

Air bags scare the poop out of me. As a former fire fighter, they always taught us to be really careful, and not get in front of it in a damaged car. They can kill you. I have train horns in my K5. don't screw with the switch, or adding relays, etc. the wiring that goes to your horn already is stout enough to run a Wolo air horn without any modification. Just unplug the stock horn(s) and plug the horn wire into the compressor. FTMFW. :headbang:
