What years in the 10th generation of Suburban don't have cylinder deactivation? I turned mine off with Diablo tuner.

All the 2007-2014 Tahoes/Suburbans have AFM. The 2007 & 2008 Yukon/Yukon XL Denalis with the 6.2 did not come with AFM.

2012-2014 This gets you the updated navigation if equipped and the updated cruise control and Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist.

The AFM systems are much more reliable as they use updated parts over your 2008. If you do any towing, look for a truck with JL1, the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller that was introduced in 2009 on the 1500s. It's on the left side knee bolster.

Of course these trucks also have 6-speed transmissions over your 4-speed and come with either 3.08 gears and a single speed transfer case if 4x4 or 3.42s and a 2-speed case if 4x4. I like to make sure my cars equipped for maximum towing and cooling, KNP, KC4, K5L are the codes to look for, external engine oil cooler, external transmission cooler, HD Cooling.

LTZs can come with heated and ventilated seats. Z71 Suburbans are kinda rare that aren't all used up. Remember that there's also a Z71 appearance package for RWD models. Z71s goes as high was LT trim.

You will enjoy the extra room the longer body affords.

I would not mind a 6.0L 2500 series Suburban. They do seem to be rare. I had a 6.0L before, it's very nice but a bit thirsty.

In good condition with the options you'd like yes, they are an extremely hard find. The 6.0l is a great motor and can get 18mpg on the highway if you keep it under 72mph if you are not towing. 72mph with stock wheels and rims is right at 2k RPM which is where I've found the mileage to head right down the drain, around town you will get 10-12mpg.

There always seem to be 15-20 fleet 2500s for sale in various condition.

I currently have two, and can tell you it's a big step up from an '09 to a '13.
