what lift kit is best for the money?

Ok I think I've made the decision to lift my yukon. I like the look of the six inch lift with larger wheels instead of enormous tires. My question is, which 6 inch lift kit is best? I've seen alot of them but can't decide and the prices seem to vary alot. I actually offroad alot, but need a lift that will allow flexibility between road and offroad driving. What's everyone have , how's it work and what should I do to get my lift done right the first time?

BDS is great. They have the best warrenty out of all of them right now. Break something and they'll send you a new part as fast as possible no questions asked.

ive had no issues with my 6" pro comp, thought my rear springs were starting to sag and they got me new ones right out . im happy on road and off, she'll do 85+ on the highway and cruise through the woods

Ok so it seems the kits are about equal in quality. How do they rate in price and reliability? Anything you are unhappy with about your lifts?

Im about to get a 2004 Yukon SLT 4x4 (hope its not sold by tomorrow)

Im thinking of a 6" for it too and have checked out Rough Country. The other lifts ive seen are just under $2000 cause they include the front CV shaft which if im not mistaken the 00+ autotrack/autoride vehicles dont need the new front shaft.

The rough country 6" is about $1500 and ive heard good things about it

I already did my 6" RCX lift, 18x9 Eagles, 35" Toyo m/t's, tint, radio, Tune, K&N CAI, borla exhaust and I just finished installing the LED Tail lights I ordered lol!!

I'm about to do a 6" TM on my 03, did you have to get extended brake lines? Also about the wheels I'm going with a 20x9, would a safe BS be about 4.5-5.0? Thanks.

Mine didnt its all bolt on the only thing i changed on mine was the rear shocks i went with fox!!

thats interesting....I see it is a little more expensive to go with fabtech but if it is all bolt on then it may be worth it in the long run. Any cons to getting the all bolt on versus the cut and weld lift?

in answering, no, i did not lift my truck yet, still cant decide what to get. I really want a kit that is 100% bolt on so i can do the work myself. There is nothing i hate more than paying some yahoo to do work i know i can do myself. Also, it seems like the 6 inch lift across the board isnt very standard, some people have incredible differences in the final results... im looking to gain the most offroad ability possible.. I have lately been battling against BDS and Fabtech, i like the multiple shock setups..

anyways, pics whenever i finally do it. and if you guys have final lift pics of various kits, that would help alot.

the fabtech seems to be a true bolt-on but its hella expensive compared to the others.

The bolt on kits are great, but from what i've heard you have to think about the factory geometry.

The cutting and welding is actually bringing everything down to where it should be. (ball joints, half shafts, control arms, etc.)

From what i've heard, the bolt on's are easy to install, but don't take into consideration that the way those parts left the factory is the way they should perform.

Extreme angles on ball joints, half shafts, and driveshafts will mean replacing them down the road.

I installed a set of keys on my Yukon at the same time as replacing the ball joints with MOOG. They lasted 4 months.

Geometry and angles is key in a lift. Dropping certain parts to keep the factory geometry is important.
