Picked it up from having the tires installed.. Well appearantly they completely ignored what I told them. I had my new 17" wheels in the back of the Tahoe. I ordered 285 / 70 R17 Cooper AT3's. I go to pick it up and they returned the R17 tires and exchanged them for R16's to fit my factory wheels. SMH...

I have to drop it off again Monday in order for them to fix their mistake. Anyway, here is a pic of it with 285 / 75 R16's.

It was 4:30 and they already returned the tires to the warehouse. It's not a huge deal, they'll fix it.

This one car 110 degree garage is killin' me during the day.

I will never wrap another SUV roof again lol what a pain in the ass!

Sold my custom center console! Now back to the crappy jump seat for a little while. But with that gone I have my new double din on order! Woo hoo. Now I have motivation to build my box for my 18!

Will either build a new console that fits even better or buy a factory... not sure yet.

Thanks and yea wrapping it myself in a barely one car garage that my Town home came with.
I just finished up two toning the hood today and learning how to properly use knifeless tape is fun.
I popped the breaker using the heat gun too long so a couple people couldnt get into their garages lol... I snuck over to the breaker box and reset it before people knew who it was.

After a lot of research on plasti-dip and vinyl I decided to wrap it since I can get 4-6 years out of Avery vinyl and was quoted 3-4k to wrap it so I decided to do it myself.
I have about $750 total so far in vinyl, nice variable temp heat gun, ir temp gun, felt squeegees, cotton gloves, 3m edge sealer, 3m primer, razors etc etc.

So far I can only work on it 1-2 times a week so its been over 2 months lol. I still have the passenger side and body kit to do. Hopefully within the next month it will be done so I can enjoy it again.

I really wanted to wrap my roof in a gloss black, but after hearing you say it sucks, pretty much confirmed it's not gonna happen lol. It looks like it will be really hard with the roof ridges.

Well the roof wouldn't be too terrible if you have the space to move around the car freely AND have a helper or two. Problem is laying the vinyl flat on all 4 corners, so ideally you want to have someone on each corner laying it down while keeping it taut so you don't have as much air to squeegee out.

Gotcha. Kind of like a cross between window tint and interior vinyl? Lol I'm assuming you use heat to stretch the film around the big roof ridges?

After a lot of trial and error and watching a ton of videos yes you use as much heat as you need to soften the vinyl into and around the ridges before using the squeegee, that way your not excessively stretching the vinyl down, up and over every ridge.

The real ****** part is god forbid you have too much vinyl near the middle of the roof and have to lift the vinyl from the outer edge inwards to work out the extra vinyl, you then run into stress marks in the vinyl and worries of screwing it up further.
On smaller panels its easier to lift the vinyl if needed without too much damage. Ideally you want the vinyl as flat and smooth as possible laid over the panel before using the squeegee so you don't have to re-lift the vinyl to remove excess air but all the channels on the roof made that impossible lol.

As in the street forum, just tweaked the front keys to complete the drop, did the free travel mod, and got her aligned. No more hideous fender gapb Now we need a family road trip, to anywhere.

My wheels and tires were finally mounted yesterday. It was a PITA though. The commercial tire shop that I bought them from ended up scratching one of my wheels fairly badly. They said they couldn't mount the tires on my new wheels. I had to take the wheels and tires across town, have them mounted somewhere else then bring them back to be balanced.

They are going to replace the wheel for me and they gave me a pretty big discount on the tires so overall I'm happy. It was just a PITA.
