Finally painted and cleared my dash, now I have to cut some black abs plastic and cover the open gaps.

Perhaps you should explain to her how 'non-matching' center caps throw off the balancability and steeringness of the vehicle ... only remedy being new wheels.

The funny thing is that was the first thing she said when I brought the issue to her attention. She said, "Now don't be using this as an excuse to get new wheels and tires!!! We're not doing that right now". She's still in recovery from our A/C repair a few weeks ago

I've already ordered a new center cap off eBay for $15.....
