Good stuff.

you can diy hydro dip. you can buy the prints, ( its super cheap) and that spray, i forget what its called. then build tank out of wood and put a liner and a fish tank heater to keep the water at the temp it needs to be at. then dip away. seen vids of them painting things red first, then doing a carbon fiber dip, comes out real sharp looking.

Did the oil pan - too messy to touch my phone for pics this time. One after clean up for proof heh heh. Interesting, I ordered the fel pro pick up tube o-ring and showed red, but it came black. Same part #. Crossed fingers, hopefully pan doesn’t leak when I fill it with oil tomorrow. Old pan gasket looked kinda of bent up. The new one didn’t sit flush real well, seemed high in the area of the oil cooler block off area. Hope it leaks less at least !

Drove about 2 hours away and picked up a HD hood cut for the GMC lights for buddies Denali. Guy that had it was hardcore into gmt800s with platinum interior bits from the Escalade ESVs. I honestly didn't know that was even a thing.

Hood needs love and then paint but is already cut and OEM steel.

I guess I got the o-ring in good, startup oil pressure did actually go up from about 35 to just under 45. I’ll drive it a day and recheck for leaks.

The hood. I can’t even find a HD hood period around here and if I could I’d have to cut and mod it myself, no body shop would do it.

This guy had half a dozen of them and only wanted $350 for this one. Although it does have one decent sized dent I thought that was a good deal since china hoods are $500+

Was there alot of gunk in the screen or on the bottom of the pan?

It does... I’d love to do it.. besides, my hood could definitely use a repaint..! I want one! No idea if there are any already cut for the Yukon here locally though.

It doesn't take much to cut it and as long as the body shop has a half-assed welder they just cut then welder the layers back together, No real bodywork needed if you get one already in good shape.

I'll try to take some better pics of the underside of the cut.
