I wonder if there are any high quality auto ride shocks available from anyone (other then GM? are theirs even any good or just $$) now. I have unknown aftermarket replacements from the PO on my Esky. If those go I'll likely just go with a standard setup I think.

The Monroe ones function just like the factory ones and run less then GM ones

Nice. Some report 1.75 as the magic no trim number. Do your rims have divots in the back? I think that may make the difference.

That's exactly what I was about to say. I know from experience - the day before driving to Marco Island, Florida from NY, I lost a wheel while doing 65mph on a 4-lane highway. Thankfully I had noticed some weird handling and was slowing down to pull over to check, was doing about 40 when the ass end dropped to the asphalt, and the tire went bouncing past me, stopping over 150 feet down the slope and into the woods. That wouldn't have been bad, except we'd gotten about 12" of snow the previous day (on top of the 20+ already on the ground). I had to trek through waist-deep snow to get it, and then drag it up the 30* slope.

The 20" wheels I'd bought the 1 1/2" spacers for (on my old Tahoe) had a 1/4" deep recess for the hub studs to protrude into - the 16's in my signature did not. Even though they were hubcentric with a 1/4" lip, the 1 5/8" studs stuck out 1/8", preventing the flat surface of the wheel from touching the flat surface of the hub.

For my current Sierra 20's I have, I marked the stud locations on the back side of the wheels, and drilled some recesses with a 5/8" drill bit, problem solved.

Yeah but they have cheapass twin tube monroe dampers.

Are we talking about the same ones? Cause the ones I’ve seen on Amazon were identical to the AC Delco ones, there’s a few pics on Amazon forget it it was the front or rear ones but it was pretty much an AC Delco shock in a Monroe box

Here's a pic of the backside of my rims and yes there are spaces where the lugs could protrude through and not hit the rim,... but I dont recall them protruding past the spacer,... I have to take one off today anyways so I will confirm.

Got a 315 70 17 to see what i gotta do to fit them in without buying a lift kit ordering some raceline wheels.. This things are huge compared to my 285 on the yukon

Lets see how it goes the truck is on keys and there plenty of room with the 285 on it now.

i ran 33x12.5 16.5 on a 03 gmc 2500 hd it came a bit higher then most other trucks. i also had keys, and 2 inch block in the rear. and still had to cut the lower part of the front plastic bumper, and the inside plastic wheel well liner at the bottom inside area, the hump there is the e brake cable.

tire calculator says its about the same size, only your tire is a bout a inch and a 1/4 taller.

i really think your gonna need a lift of some kind. 2 inch body lift might do it if they have them for the tahoe yukons, never looked it up. but they are generally cheap.

My 305s measure 34"...and im on 3" keys with z71 springs with airlift.. Still trimming required

I don’t mind the trimming as long as they don’t rub so much am good with that. Am looking at the bds 4in lift if anything
