Was the mounting hardware in good shape? This is what one of mine looked like after we (My son W8TVI did the installing for me). Needless I didn't leave good review on Amazon. Same bracket, different angle.View attachment 181164 View attachment 181165
My brackets were fine. The QC over in China isn't the greatest, so I'm not surprised to hear about your misfortune.

Busted my center console/ jump seat a few weeks back, planned on building a center console.
Salvaged the frame of the jump seat, cut it apart to give me a mount for the bottom.

Never mind all the junk in it, been keeping all my shit in it while I've been working - and yes, I work out of my truck, hence all the Rockstar cans...

Started building up the front of the console, wanted it to angle to match the dash.
And, gotta have cup holders!!! Two holes, big enough for 4" port tubes - off center a little bit, rounded out the hole to make them even, then building up the hole with some tape.

But, SURPRISE!!! Ain't no way I'm going to waste all that space. Tucking (2) 10" subs in the front, sealed enclosure of just about 1.2 cu ft, will be running them in parallel at 2 ohm off a Kenwood 250 watt RMS amp. Will be just enough to bring the bass forward, instead of being waaaaay back in the back corner of the XL.

And in place:

And the cubby section:

And finally, the lid:

Have a little carpet left over from the rear subwoofer enclosure, wrapped the curves:

I have some darker gray (almost black) carpet I got from Parts Express, along with another 4" port, and some 2" ports I'm going to use to trim out the holes for the lighting. Also have some "alligator" vinyl I might wrap the lid in, all depends on how it comes together.

Wow, really nice job. That would be great in my Express work van! I could always use extra space, and something to rest my arm on. And I could eliminate my kicker box in the back. Great job.

Nice work, can't wait to see it finished.
