Sorry...my message posted before I saw your console box. haha Was thinking about the sub in the back cargo area powered by a mono block and having a multi channel amp up front for the doors and front sub. Apologies if I threw some confusion in there. Was just excited for the yard finds....
Lol, I scored for sure! Glad we could share the excitement!

Going for a good run with the taho tomorrow to ERIE PA. This will be the second good run for the Taho since the swap and the longest run so for. I am looking forward to the drive.

Actually don't need it. Same color as my interior , pewter(gray) . Would it be possible to use the Bose sub as a regular sub ? Without the amp. I'd like to use it til it pops .View attachment 66031
Yes you can I ran a factory bose sub off a alpine power pack and used the sub out from my radio when I did this console and dash bezel in my 99 sierra.

Does it leave holes in the roof? How would it look with it gone completely?
There's threaded inserts that you can just reinstall the original bolts back into so they don't stay full of water but there's no actual through holes so it won't leak to the inside. And the picture in that post should answer your second question! And there's a couple more pics in my build thread here:

Yeah, I think Im gonna pull mine off. Seems so much cleaner without it, plus I will never use it.

What size is the cut out of that enclosure? Haven't had one apart in years. Looks like it may be able to fit a dd 6.5 sub in there. Even if you have to make an adapter ring.

Not sure of the exact size, but it's def not 6.5. I thought about putting in a 6.5 speaker in there and it was too big. I ran my sub that drives my kicker to the Bose sub and it was just too much for the Bose, so i just spliced it into a door speaker. Sounds fine like that.
