What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I guess I'll keep posting every day I do something to my Hoe.

Yesterday I got her inspected and registered and then my wife and I changed the oil and replaced the front wheel hubs, rotors and pads. I guess it was time since the hubs and rotors were both original equipment with 155,000 miles on them.

This morning I woke up early and cleaned up the interior a bit. It still smells like old man farts in there but it's getting better. Planning on replacing the rear rotors and pads today.

I still need to replace the A/C compressor and associated parts. The water pump squeaks occasionally so I'm sure it needs to be replaced. While I'm in there, I should probably replace the timing chain. The hood has a nasty ding that needs to be fixed. The grill needs to be replaced. The fog light housings need to be replaced. It's probably time for new shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, pitman and idler arms also.

It's going to be a long road but I'll eventually get her back where she needs to be.

Looks good. I agree with @massivespl. Truck is looking good, maybe show off the front end a little more with some upgraded headlights and bumper lights. Plenty too choose from. Happy with my Depos too.

I am going to look into the ones massivepl showed me. I like the depo ones ,but out of budget at the moment. I definitely need to change them, They stick out like a sore thumb

I went with a R1 concept style pads and rotors. Ecoated. Not sure what kind or weather you get where you are but may want to look into ecoated rotors at least ,especially on the rears.

I went with the Duralast Gold brakes just because they are cheap and they last long enough. I don't mind doing a brake job now and then and the truck stops great so I guess they'll do.

I tried the Duralast but they burnt up quick cause my caliber seized up. So I went with the ACDelco over a year ago and still a lot of meat left on the pads..

But if your caliper seized doesn't that mean the it was the calipers issue and not the pad? Lol

Okay guys, I think I'm at a good stopping point for now. Got the rear rotors and pads changed out so I'm just going to enjoy driving it for a couple of weeks. Next on the agenda will be the A/C system.

So evidently there are two different sets of brake pads for the rear of the Tahoe. The guy at AutoZone rang up the correct pads and pulled the wrong ones from the back. I was about ready to burn my truck to the ground because the new pads and rotor were about 3 mm too thick for the caliper to go around. Drove back to the store and the manager actually smacked the kid on the back of the head and got me the correct pads.

Nothing more frustrating than getting into a job and having to stop and go to the parts store.

BTW...A couple years ago, I bought an air compressor, impact, and air ratchet and, in my opinion, it is worth it's weight in gold. If you don't have air tools, you should buy air tools. It makes jobs like these super quick and easy.

I had a really nice Dewalt impact in used on everything because I got tired of all the air tools. One day I left my garage open when I was inside. A few weeks later I noticed the impact and the drill were gone. Tweakers.. lol

No not at all, I will have to look at the slip.
Almost every Tahoe etc was running 18's-21's so it wasn't too embarrassing.
I had my fair share of fast cars/bikes and I missed the feeling of creeping up to the lights.
It made me miss all of my old cars and bikes.
I had a 99 Z28 400rwhp, after that I got a stretched nitrous Busa that I was terrified to launch hard and then got rid of it for a 600hp 99 Z28... Now I have a grocery getter / dog hauler but it makes more sense.

Threw some slightly used Bilstine 5100's on the front of the Yukon, got them from a guy on GMFS.

Also put my wheel spacers back on. Couldn't stand the wheels being so tucked in!
