Honestly the heat shield isn't difficult. It's 2 10mm bolts. No biggie

I believe both of my issues were installer error. 1. Make sure the circlip holding the servo cover is fully seated. It can look "in" even if it's not. And 2. Install the 4th piston inside the servo cover. Don't try to slide the cover over top of everything because it can get hung up on the seal and booger it up.

It's all back together and we're back in action so no worries now. Take your time and go slow.
Is yours a Denali? Because I watched the dude at the trans shop struggle for over an hour installing mine and he had to bend the heat shield out of the way. He said the Denalis are a *****.

Nope just a plain tahoe lt. Any chance it was the 6.0 with the 4l80? I have the 4l60

Nope no lasting damage. Not that presents itself now anyway. I didn't push it when I felt like something was screwy. If anything it's feeling better than before but I think that's more for a function of changing fluid. Seems like this transmission favors maxlife over redline d4

Installed the rear flares, new wipers and rotated the wheels.

I'm definitely going to have to get another set of escalade apps. Also I need some new taillights.

Christmas present finally came from Jegs. She ordered it beginning of Dec.
Post more when I get it in.

So I had to cut a bunch of rubber out of the steering wheel control holes to feed the wires through. I give it a 2.5 of 5 as far as $200 quality. That all said it's in and feels pretty cool like a race car.

Ew lol. Thought maybe they were the old school clears with the white reflector.

Edit:actually I wonder how those would look with the chrome painted black. Or color matched....hmmmm

LOL where are you located? These wouldn't be worth the shipping. The socket holes are crumbling but to humor you I might be able to find time to cut them open and paint the chrome black

I'm in the farthest state from where you are lol.
But yea you should play with them. Be the first to paint a set of those

Anyone ever done a Grant woodgrain wheel? I have a 2001 with no other controls on the wheel and who needs an airbag? Lol

Did my shocks today. Surprisingly all the shocks we're still good. Front end used to wallow. Saw the passenger front bump stop is split.

Had stock shocks all around. Putting the KYB's in we're a PITA! Got them all in tho. Was too late to take it for a test drive to see if the ride improved. Hopefully it was worth the time, effort and money.

Look at the size difference. Length is the same, but check out the width.

Btw- Anyone want the Sachs rear shocks? I'd hate to throw good shocks away. Fronts are a little rusty, but I think they're still good also. Free to anyone who wants to pick them up. Front and/or rears. Mailing would kill the free vibe. Lol

Damn they look super skinny next to stockers. Interested to hear how they ride. Are all aftermarket shocks like that ?
