So freaking hot. Even starting maintenance at 0700 I am drenched in sweat by 0900

Oh man it's crazy hot these days, I think Monday I'm going going to pull my bumpers off and prep them for bedliner, then Tuesday after I drop the Tahoe off, I'm going to spray them.
Then when I get the truck back I'm going to tape off the fender flares, prep them and spray them too. I'm thinking of spraying the door molding as well to finish de chroming

I'm going for a white and black theme

Good luck. Hydrate or die are the options in Houston. I literally can not drink enough beer by the end of the day to rehydrate. I got ss brake lines to put on but just keep waiting till it's cooler and I'm not sweating like a ISIS hostage.

Need them details

What details do you need? Maybe the following will help.

How difficult was it getting the top dash off?

What color? What product are you using?

This was my second time removing the top dash so it was a bit easier, but I would say it took me 15-20 minutes. The glove box took 10 minutes because there were 2 rivets. I didn't remove the airbag, doing it in place. Same for the part that's around the glovebox area- it looks like the console would have to come out, so I pulled the right side loose and propped it away from the airbag and prepped it. I just finished painting those 2 parts. So 30 minutes or so removing everything that I'm painting. I'm using SEM *** Adhesion Promoter and SEM 17163 Med Dark Pewter for my Pewter dash. It's almost an exact match but I think mine is faded or it would be perfect, that's why I'm painting everything that touches the top dash.

Thise are the details I'm talking about. Someone give that man a cookie for the details. You make it sound like cake walk.

Feeling defeated. Attempted to put in new coupling shaft, intermediate steering shaft, bearing and position sensor. Had to take out the adjustable gas pedal to get at the bolts of the ISS. Got the bolts off the ISS and then could not get the shaft separated. Tried all sorts of things myself but couldn't get it to separate at either the coupler nor under the column. It was just me in my garage in 103* weather and I caved. Put it back together and will likely take it somewhere.

Oh well, in the meantime, i'll order new bolts and nuts too, so the whole thing will be new.

Here's a write-up on the dash removal. As far as the painting, SEM paint has some great instructions on their website so here's a link to " Refinishing Automotive Interior And Exterior Flexible And Rigid Substrates". I substituted Dawn dishwashing liquid for their plastic cleaner and Denatured alcohol for their Zero VOC Surface Cleaner but followed the rest of their instructions.

Shit must be in Texas. Don't take it to heart. Heat is a mofo. Been there plenty. I barely do maintenance on my yard equipment let alone Denali during the summer. Take a break and a pause maybe try again tomorrow but don't sweat it,literally. Some of the thing I've don't on my truck aren't hard but multiple times I had to step back and start again another time.
