What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I always keep some tools in my rides and usually a fire extinguisher just incase. Before I had it sitting in one of my tool bins making it hard to find and get to during an emergency. Dug up the mount in my parts bins and rivnutted it to the plastic. Looks simple, easy to get to and it doesn't rattle.View attachment 241908 View attachment 241909 View attachment 241910

Rivnuts hold ok in the plastic? I'd be afraid of it becoming a projectile in an accident. Better than rolling around on the floor of course...

When I grab the bottle or the plastic panel and shake there is no sign that the plastic will fail. The extinguisher does not shake at all honestly I'm impressed with the single clamp on the mount. Only time will tell of course but so far so good.

Installed corvette Transmision servo upgrade Monday night while the wife watched the Batchelor. Shifts feel a little quicker and more sure. It was a pain in the neck getting the servo assembly in and out. It kept interfering with the floor pan trans tunnel. Finally after much twisting and contorting it came out. Did anyone else have trouble sliding the servo out?

Installed corvette Transmision servo upgrade Monday night while the wife watched the Batchelor. Shifts feel a little quicker and more sure. It was a pain in the neck getting the servo assembly in and out. It kept interfering with the floor pan trans tunnel. Finally after much twisting and contorting it came out. Did anyone else have trouble sliding the servo out?

I mean its a tight fit and there is not a ton of room to work your tools in there, but if you lubricate liberally and arent afraid to get your hands & face dirty you can definitely get the job done.

a couple of years or maybe 1 year not really sure have a coolant line that runs thru the throttle body (supposedly to help with idle when it is cold out), and most years also have the front and rear coolant crossover "steam" pipes that run coolant thru the heads. so on my old lady's 04 that throttle body coolant line has a "T" that goes from the throttle body to the crossover pipe, hers was leaking either where the hose clamps onto the metal line or where the o-ring is where the line enters the head, the dealer no longer sells the line or the o-ring's and they now sell a cap to cap it off, I could have got the o-rings at the autoparts store but I just said screw it and used the caps and capped off the coolant line from the radiator also.
the internet seems to be in a toss up as to whether or not the pipes are needed, I may just go ahead and order a dorman pipe and hook it back up and just delete it from the throttle body since it's cheap enough

Strange. I did it twice, and it was easy both times. I unscrewed 2 bolts that hold the exhaust shield/hanger, and it made a huge difference.

I actually had installed the Corvett servo first, and then replaced it with the one from 4L75 (it's a little bit smaller than Corvett). The Corvett servo gave me a nasty 3-2 downshift jerk (maybe cuz my TK chain is worn out and it takes some time to work out the slack).

And I also installed an upgraded pin from Sonnax.

Coincidentally, I drove 210 miles to get those damned O-rings between yesterday and today. Stores online wanted $6-$8 each, NAPA wanted $0.99.

I just ordered the dorman replacement pipe it was $47 shipped from rockauto, the old pipe didn't look so hot, I was just going to just leave it deleted but it gets hot here in Cali don't need more issue's on top of the noise it's decided it wants to make now.

I know they decided the rear ones weren't necessary and so they made the block-offs. But, I can't imagine them deleting the front ones.

That crossover through the TB is some BS. You know how they fixed it in the newer gens? They simply angled the TB a hair so any moisture that may be around the throttle blade won't collect on the blade where it could freeze.

I found a guy locally selling a black interior for a reasonable price and it's in great shape

Yup.

I actually have the boost valve and a bunch of other hydraulic plate updates ready to be installed as well. Just waiting for the next AT oil change to remove the pan and install all those things
