What are the best standard size tires for 2002 Tahoe?

2002 Tahoe with 228,000 miles and working to get everything fixed on it. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just good tires that will work well in all weather, not slip out in the rain and manage dirt/gravel reads well. The previous owner put smaller tires on the truck yet I'm looking for standard size tires.

Why not go with the size listed in the door jamb?

assuming its a 4wd version and standard trim its 265 70 16 or 245 75 16. for your request i suggest 245 75 16. the 265 70 is barely taller but wider for all weather heavy rain and or snow you want a thinner tire. wider tire will slip easier on slick surfaces. i got a set of thunderer ranger atr and i was leery about the purchase but i needed a set of tire and thats what they had as an all terrain. so far im loving them great grip all around. they are quiet but they are more on the aggressive side so proper tire rotation is a must.

265/75/16 is about as common a size as you can get and is stock on most, you can go bigger say a 285 (33x12, where as 265 is closer to 32x10) I found on our denali with the 285 (being wider) was fine in rain and dirt, but made it much worse on snow/ice that the same tire in a 265. so now I have the 285 for summer and got a snow tire in the stock 265 and it made allll the difference.

but as stated the door jamb is also a good way to go if your looking for stock and that is the size that truck would be set up for.
