Nothing really important here. I just put a new battery in my 08 Tahoe. I've been using and having good luck with Walmart batteries. This time I bought one of their EverStart Platinum AGM batteries. When I was moving it around it appeared to slosh inside like a flooded lead acid battery. I thought AGM's had a gel electrolyte, and no water. It almost feels like I got a Flooded lead acid battery with a AGM sticker on it. Do AGM's have liquid inside? Thanks

Supposedly only enough to keep the fiberglass mats between the lead plates wet. If you hear sloshing inside the battery, I would return it. Probably a labeling error by their battery vendor.

gel is an actual gel cell battery. those exist but not used in cars that I know of. mostly golf carts that are used indoors, since they are sealed.

I don't remember agm sloshing around thou. I've never really tried shaking one around thou.

The battery label says "non spillable", so I would expect a gel inside. I'm going to go to a different store and shake a different one to see, then double check mine to make sure I'm not hallucinating then exchange if appropriate. I'm thinking the mislabeled at the factory scenario.

Probably 99% of everyone who buys a car battery at Walmart has no clue what the differences are.
