Truck looks great. Price is fine, imo. Stick to your guns. There are guys here with great insights on how to build your ad. Hopefully they will chime in with some thoughts. How long have you had it listed?

I don’t believe you’re wrong for asking that price. I personally wouldn’t drop too much lower.

People tend to ask too much for these because they over estimate the condition. Having looked at a number of them recently, I was amazed what I found. people listing their vehicle as very good condition while shocks were blown, water pump leaking, cel on, rust and dents... Not having seen yours, idk what condition it is in or if your asking price is right. Unless in a rush to sell, I would probably not change it.

my theory on pricing is to look and see what the competition is priced at, if other vehicles are being listed for $5k/6k in similar condition and your asking 8K your not going to sell, it's going to sit for a good while and your just helping others sell there's. I guess it depends on the motivation to sell as well

You got to love the perfect pictures on some of these used posts . 220,000 looks like new . Then you go look at them oil puddles everywhere . Only 1/2 the options work. The really good ones engines have nice knocks in them . And transfer case is covered in oil . Brake fluid leaks . The laundry list of problems . And post guy put up would say everything works great . Well maintained. And scratches and dents everywhere. But not in pictures online posts lol . Ya it's all pretty funny how the owner turns in to a perfect car salesman from the 80s lol [emoji106] and funny how people think there wizards editing photos to make them look perfect lol . That just pisses people right off . [emoji106] Then you wonder why guys looking ....low balls ya . No mysteries there. That's why you got to look at them . Pictures online post are just fantasy. You could call alot posts for used rigs fake news lol [emoji16]

Run the value on Edmunds to get a feel for what the buyers are looking at........(buyers love Edmunds/Sellers love KBB for obvious reasons) Maybe you can revamp your ad to make sure it has all the information needed to "check off" all the boxes on the used car valuation sites? Every car buyer is probably looking at the same basic sites to try to establish market value. If your vehicle is a One Owner unit with 100% complete service records and the body interior and exterior is flawless you need to state that clearly in your Ad. Most savvy used car buyers are looking for this type of vehicle and will pay market or more when properly presented with that opportunity.

I'm the area I love, your asking price is about where an 05-06 Escalade is at. Even though yours looks perfect, and I mean no disrespect here, but you are asking too much. When I was trying to sell my almost perfect 05 Tahoe, with some add on's and a Blackbear tune, no one would even make an offer, and I was only asking 6k with 180k on it. I think of you asked for 6k with your rare color, you'd sell it in a few days. This is Just my opinion and maybe it's different in Colorado and our used car values may be lower.

I read too many fellow members on here saying how they regret selling their gmt800 Tahoe's, so I kept it. I drive my 09 more often, hoping to save up and mod it a little more.

Here in Michigan that would be a 4000-5000 truck. I feel it’s priced wayyy high. Just my opinion though. U can’t get top dollar for a 200k mikes vehicle even if these engine run forever.

The only people that would "ignore" the 200K miles are those "in the know" that are genuinely interested in owning it. Anyone else is gonna look at that odometer beginning with a "2" as it being unable to get them home. It having a trailer brake controller doesn't help, either. Potential buyers see that as an indication that it towed D5 dozers it's entire life and the trans is cooked.

Location plays a huge factor in value and it can easily vary within a $3,000 range. Last I knew when I was shopping, comparably clean 2WDs with ~150K miles in my area were 5-7K. If I had to take a wild guess, you should be able to sell yours for $6.5-$7K, maybe $7.5 to the right person if it is truly as it presents in the ad.

Interesting to see another Bermuda Blue Z71 around; I’m over in eastern NC (Greenville, unfortunately).
My sister has been trying to get me to sell mine to her but I’m not giving mine up any time soon since I got the creampuff edition lol. I’ll send her your ad and see if she’s interested, if you wouldn’t mind. Do you have the third row seating? Feel free to shoot me a message at your earliest convenience.

I personally think it’s a good price for the state. If I needed to replace mine and yours looked good enough to me in person, I’d have no problems with offering you $7,500-8,000 cash on the spot (I still would want to haggle a bit but, hey, most people do too).

What is probably holding you back and what is getting you lowball offers is your location within NC: over in eastern NC you could get $8,500-9,000 for it at the right time easily. In the RTP area you’re dealing with a larger volume of quality used vehicles in the area, same with Charlotte. Location and demand means a lot with used cars. Like others have said, you’re looking at a $3k swing in prices easily. In some areas I have even seen Tahoes similar to ours going for upwards of 10k and still being plucked off the driveway as soon as they are posted. I do not know what others have offered you around the RTP area, but given my experiences in the area I wouldn’t be surprised to see them offering you anywhere from $4,500-6,000.

I ended up agreeing to an offer for 7200 .. granted it's conditional on a final ppi ... but it should be done later this week.

I agree with what you're saying Nick ... the audience here in the RTP area has a really broad selection and for most they don't know the value in these. I had other offers at 6500 and 7000 so hopefully this can help guide others.

100% agree... it is all supply and demand. Interms of value, from what i am hearing sounds gr8... i paid 3500 for my z71 and search my forum posts... is a basket case. I prob have a few grand more into it and have done all the work myself. I think drivetrains are gd for lot more than 200k as you said.

I can’t tell the true condition without seeing it but most people buying 15 year old vehicles really don’t care much about the condition because they have no intention of fixing it anyway. They’re just going to drive it until it quits and buy another. So you’ve got to wait for the person that values the condition. I take impeccable care of my vehicles (borderline restoration sometimes...) so it usually takes me a month or more just go get someone to get off their rear and come look at it, and every single time I’ve sold the car on the spot to the first person that bothered to come look. So you either stand your ground and wait or lower your price to move it faster.

Just FYI..... I just bought an '07 ** same color exterior, ebony leather, Flex Fuel, and 4WD, NBS with 162k miles on it, for $7500. BUT . . . it was needing a full 4 wheel brake rebuild, including calipers and rotors, rear axle seals, one tire was bald, another has less than a year left, rear main seal is leaking, engine is idling a little rough intermittently (a sign of pending problems with the 8/4 AFM system needing to be disabled), a slight slip in a carrier bearing or so it feels like....... has a cracked windshield, a banged up right rear door edge where the prior owner tried to back it out of the garage with it open, another pretty big ding in the front passenger door right under the latch, another one under the gas cap, paint shot on the hood, above the windshield, and both body side moldings, the radio was for $hit, although it did have the Bose amp and speakers all work, no backup cam, liftgate glass button gone, one second row seat was jammed and wouldn't fold forward, there were about a pound of petrified chicken McNuggets and 3 bags worth of french fries under the seats, along with kiddy vomit (dried), doggy vomit (dried), gum in the carpet, tons of dirt and hair, a split in the leather console cover and driver seat, door sills missing in back, generally filthy inside, and one headlight is completely shot and can't be restored. Oh, and the customary dash cracked in three places.

So really. . . . stick to your price for a bit. Your's looks a helluva lot cleaner and nicer inside, especially with that light color carpet and leather, and body is straighter than mine. I've already had to spend close to $2k on the brakes and seals, and a new sound system and backup cam, plus a bunch of missing/broken parts, and a tire. Just cleaning the crap out and detailing the interior took over a week working on it every day.

If it's in good condition mechanically, and not trashed, and has no major mech issues or body issues, try to get what you can for it. Ultimately, the market will decide what they're willing to pay you for it.

Wow, I can't believe you paid $7500 for that in the condition it's in.

You know your used rig prices go more on what's on sale at time buyers looking . Because what's being missed . there is guys that fix them and they will deal with issues . But them guys can't be tricked. Selling rigs isn't that tuff . Make post and tell the issues that it has. Price it accordingly. If you think your a wizard and your going to stick someone with your problems and top price . Well your just another car dealer. Dealers do that on daily basis. It's not rocket science. [emoji106][emoji6]

TYF FACT: Total vehicle value is directly proportionate to the orientation of the white letters on the tire sidewalls.
