On a 2017 yukon why wouldn't the new Nav update be covered under bumper to bumper warranty?

Because a warranty is for things that break not for updates that you may choose to pay for or choose not to pay for.

My gripe is that they stopped offering updates for my particular system after the newest model was but 4-5 years old. So now I'm 3 years out of date and drove right on by a new Popeyes tonight!

Well that means it not working properly if under warranty
