Hey everyone, I've got an 03 Tahoe Z71 4x4 that I bought a little over a year ago. When I bought the truck the seller told me the 4wd doesn't work due to an electrical issue but the truck drove just fine in 2wd. So I brought it home and started diagnosing the problem and found the wiring going into the transfer case to be a cobbled up mess. So I started hunting for a complete new harness. After five failed attempts I finally found what I thought was the correct one and got the transfer case side plugged in and ran the wires into the engine compartment to the fuse box.

There's a 12 pin and a 3 pin connector by the fuse box that this harness plugs into but the connectors on the new harness are different. One of them is a 12 pin and all the wire colors match up as they should but instead of a 3 pin the new harness has a 6 pin connector. I'll include pictures. The 12 pin i can fix easily but I'm not sure what to do with the wiring from the 6 pin to the 3 pin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The simple answer is that the harness is not the correct one. What harness part number did you get, and can you tell what years it fits?

If you are sure wiring is correct off the donor vehicle then just cut your 3 pin off your vehicle and put it in place of the 6 pin on the donor harness.
