I'd love to do another trip if I could. I might be driving to West Palm in a few weeks. My buddy MIGHT have another job for me driving a customer's car down there. So....NJ to just about the end of Florida. It's a good time if you're driving something you love. I took my Tahoe cross country a few times, a few times were just by myself. The Z55 suspension made it like driving my sofa down the road. I also have RSE, so I just listened to movies. The 6.2 stayed in 6th gear 90% of the time and time just goes flies by.

That cross country trip to LAView attachment 246652 , I was there for 1 hr, then took a JetBlue home. That plane was cramped!! Felt like a damn sardine. The Northwest FTW!
If you want a beautiful drive do the West Coast.
Yeah I’m NOT talking about southern Cali! Start in Canada, down through Washington, then the entire Oregon coast is within view of the ocean and ZERO major cities but hundreds of state parks, then Northern California and stop when you get to the Bay Area. Beautiful like you wouldn’t believe. That cross country trip to LAView attachment 246652 , I was there for 1 hr, then took a JetBlue home. That plane was cramped!! That does sound amazing. My daughter sent me a pic of those huge boulders at an Oregon beach. I think it was in that movie "Goonies".Yeah I’m NOT talking about southern Cali! You obviously haven’t driven through Ventura, Santa Barbara, Oxnard and then up PCH through Big Sur.... until then stop talkin smack about SoCal.... lolYeah I’m NOT talking about southern Cali! Oh yeah, I have driven that stretch once. It is beautiful. It was better 30 years ago when I drove it though, it’s getting crowded now I hear. You obviously haven’t driven through Ventura, Santa Barbara, Oxnard and then up PCH through Big Sur.... until then stop talkin smack about SoCal.... lol
We used to go camping at lake naciemiento, which is an hour north of San Luis Obispo, just outside of Paso Robles. We would drive from here up to Santa Barbara and go up OCH a bit and then head inland afterwards to get towards San Luis Obispo. It was always such a pretty drive. I miss those trips! Now you have me thinking about the pushrods. Forgot about those. Besides the cam and pushrods, springs were also part of the supporting mods.If the cam is toast I'd call TSP, BTR or whoevers initials you prefer and have them put together a package deal. Then sweet talk them for a 10% off.
I hope the cam is okay tho! I'm in same boat hope my 224/228 is alright.
Got some new lifters with trays.Lifters and that pesky oil o ring!
You don't need a double timing chain, and if you did get one you would need to clearance the timing cover which you don't really want to do. I used a Cloyes roller timing set, you might look into their stuff- it's top notch.Ok guys, I'm starting to look for some parts to get for the new motor. Thx to @treehan77 I got the knock sensors--now I need (possibly)heavy duty or double timing chain, a Melling--or GM--oil pump--high volume?--thermostat, gonna use my same water pump since it has barely 20,000 miles on it, knock sensor harness, oil presdure sensor, the usual gaskets--intake, oil pan, main seal etc. I've already bought new lifters and trays. Still not sure if my old BTR cam is still good. If not, that's $400 right there. Anyone have any suggestions or comments? Especially about the timing chain and oil pump. Thx guys. Anything I'm forgetting?
My fault, I thought that spec sheet I posted said there was a double installed. Is the Cloyes setup a straight up install? Or is there some clearancing or anything else involved? I just want to replace the stocker and have a durable, yet easy install. My van has 147,000 on it, and it seemed to have alot of slack in it. Just want take care of that on the 6.0--just in case. You don't need a double timing chain, and if you did get one you would need to clearance the timing cover which you don't really want to do.
