Hey yall, I currently have 18 inch wheels with 60 series tires. The ride is decent but I want bigger wheels. I'm torn between 22 and 24 inch tires. The 22 would be 40 series and the 24 would be 35 series.

Now for those of you who made the same switch I'm thinking about, how did it change the ride, especially going over bumps and stuff like that?

I'm running 305/35/24's and the ride definately firmed up with the lower profile tires but not to a harsh level I'm also lowered 2/3 and still running oem suspension and my truck rides very smooth and comfortable.

Narco944 just went from stock wheels and tires to 305/40/22's and his suspension is stock for the moment so he would be a good reference for you for the 40 series tires on 22's

yup. my ride hasnt changed at all really. its still very smooth. 305/40/22 so far so good. i just ordered a 3/4 drop kit from Max. its a progressive rate spring so hopefully the ride doesn't stiffen up too much. ill be sure and post pics and info.

BlackDenali, did you change up to better brakes?

Not yet. I don't drive all that much (04 with 43,***) and I don't really have any issues with braking performance. I know it takes alot more braking power for bigger wheels and when I need brakes I will be upgrading but for right now, considering I don't get the truck over 45 around town the stockers will do

Are Brembo brakes really worth the upgrade? I might do that before the wheels.

I went through the same dilema. 22s or 24s and after looking at a few Hoes I settled on 24s. So glad I did but it's a personal choice

Are Brembo brakes really worth the upgrade?

I say eventually yes but and based on how much and the kind of driving I mainly do my stock brakes are fine for me with my 24's. When I need brakes I will be upgrading but thats just because I can't justify spending dough on stock anything.

I believe the brembo kit is around $3500 for the front and $3000 for the rear so it is a big investment and I personally don't think, for that kinda cash, it is worth it on these trucks when there are less expensive upgrades.

C&B got his calipers for a good price and I believe building the mounting brackets himself so all he needs is pads, rotors and lines to complete the kit.

That's my issue. I don't wanna spend the money on 24s and find the ride is too tight/rough and wish I had 22s instead. On the other hand, I don't wanna get 22s and realize I hardly can tell the difference and wish I had got the 24s.

I think I'll get the 24s.
