Tire Valve Stem Cap Cover

Cool tire stem covers that show the American Flag on it.

Many years ago one of my sons bought four aftermarket metal valve stem covers and put them on one of our vehicles, a 1998 Dodge Intrepid ES, as he drove the vehicle. I think they were aluminum.

Fast forward several months. When I tried to remove the valve stem covers to add air to the tires, all four had corroded inside and could not be removed.

I had to take a Dremel tool cutting wheel and slice a groove in the valve stem caps, then split each one to spread it and enable me to remove them.

No more aftermarket valve stem caps that are not nylon or plastic for me.

homesick

Just another reminder that freedom ain't free, everything has a cost, and there's no 'up' without 'down'.

Interesting..... I've used cheap metal caps for decades, and I've never had an issue with them sticking/corroding. I guess that I've been lucky on this one.
