Hi all,

Wanted to share my experience looking for new tires, in case anyone else is facing a similar situation.

2023 High Country, Mag Ride, NO Air suspension, 22” OEM Carbon Flash wheels (+28 offset). I was searching for the largest AT, triple peak/snow rated tire I could fit. After searching this forum I narrowed down to three sizes:

1) 295/50
2) 285/50
3) 305/45

I read at least one post from a Denali owner who said he fit 295/50/22 on stock Denali’s wheels without issue. This was my first choice as it was the largest of the three options. Did a test fit and these absolutely would NOT fit. The side of the tire makes direct contact with the upper control arm.

Next, we test fit the 285/50. Had about a quarter inch clearance from the upper control arm, and a tiny bit of space (maybe 1/8”) from the inner wheel liner at full lock.

I decided to go with the 285/50 (knowing the 305/45 would be no issue, I decided to risk the 285/50 as they are larger) and test any rubbing in driving conditions. About 100 miles in and have had zero issues.

Choose the Toyo AT3 and love the look. Night and day appearance difference compared to the stock Bridgestones. I’ll post a pic later this week if anyone is interested.

I have heard great things about Michelin Cross Climate 2's and put a set on my 21 Suburban High Country in the 285 45 22 size. They are a touch shorter but a little wider. I like that they stick out a little past the rim as I already have one rim with a little rash, from previous owner. They handle great and after a first snow, 3-4 inches and sloppy, they work great.

Truck looks great, thinking about the same tires you did, how's the road noise? new tires have to pass the wife test too,

They have a little more road noise. The tire feels a little stiffer but it handles well dry and in the wet. Just did around 600 miles last weekend up north in Michigan and it has been snowing all the time we were there. The tires handled the weather beautifully. I like them. My brother sold me on them. He works for Belle Tire and he has them on all the vehicles in their family. They are rated very highly at Tire Rack also.

Not sure if you were asking about mine or Jerry’s. Road noise has not been an issue with mine. Zero complaints from the wife.

I have a 2021 Tahoe Premier (factory Mag Ride, NO Air suspension) that came stock with 22" wheels and 275/50R22 tires = 32.83 diameter
I wanted more tire and less wheel so I don't bump into curbs in town and better handling on mild-medium off-road driving.
Tahoe LT comes with 18" wheels and 265/65R18 tires = 31.56 diameter.
I wanted to put on the tallest tires I could on 18" wheels that would require only minimal trimming, so I did not increase the width.
I found some nearly new Sierra 18" AT4X wheels that i love and put on Falken Wildpeak LT265/70R18 tires.
Wildpeak 265/70R18 = 32.6 diameter
Wildpeak LT265/70R18 = 33.0 diameter
I tow a toy box trailer and do some off-road driving so I went with LT265/70R18 and only get a little rubbing around town with wheel cranked all the way over.
But I worry that on bumpy terrain they could rub hard.
Plus I want to be able to fit snow chains so definitely need more clearance.
I will add either a 2" body lift or a 3" suspension lift - hard to find ones that work with mag ride, but there are a couple
I checked and a full size spare with 33" tire is the largest that will fit in the spare storage location so that is nice - just need to buy another 18" wheel and tire.
Any recommendations on body lift vs suspension lift - I like doing off-road but not extreme

I am surprised the 295’s rubbed, but the 285’s didnt. Goes to show you how close they are cutting it!

My ex went through a few sets of 305/45/22 at3’s and they were great. Hers were not lt rated though, so they were a lot lighter than what you have (and less tread depth).

Nice choice on the new wheels and tires - a lot sportier and beefier looking!

I went with Michelin Defenders in stock size for 2024 Tahoe with 22” wheels and my tire guy ordered another set of 22” Michelins to try. They looked better than the Defender with more aggressive tread but not really an offroad tire. I think they were 285/60/22 and I really wanted them to work!

The overall diameter was almost an inch more and he mounted them and they looked perfect but told me he would not go with those over the stock size 275/50/22 due to rubbing with out trimming.
I forgot which Michelin model they were but pretty sure it was an “all terrain” but not “offroad”.
Just slightly more ribbing or blocking than the Defender and just enough to slightly rub.

If I was up to trimming the material lining the wheel well or lift, it would have worked.

Inputting my setup just for visuals/reference for future.

I just installed 285/55/22 Falken Wildpeaks on my 2026 AT4 with Magride. No suspension work whatsoever. Fit with very minimal triming.
