tire comparision

i am going to be putting new tires on and am trying to decide if i want 285's or 265's..i am not going to be doing any gear changes and so i don't want to loose alot of power...what is everyone's opinion on what would you go with?
it does mainly highway drivin but some offroad

I didn't notice a big difference when I went from 265 to 285 and 285's will look a lot better.

I have 65's and they're just inside the fender enough to not throw rocks around. I think the 85's might toss rocks at your paint.

i have a 1996 and after wearing out the stock tires i put 28575r16s on the stock rims. they work fine most of the time but when i went offroad and was going a little to fast the front tires rubbed the inside wheelwell where the crome strip is. put som cuts in the corners of the tread. that was a real bummer.

No gear change is required, it is a minimal change. What woodman said is reality too. A small crank on the bars can fix that. My vote is a 285.

agree with Kris, I did 285 on my 96', looked great.
