Tip: Replacing front turn signal bulbs

When one or both front turn signal bulbs burn out on a 2015-20 Tahoe and need replacing (especially the driver side), do yourself a favor and just trade the poorly designed piece of crap in on a Toyota…you can thank me later.

Joking aside, what is the solution for getting the left blinker out?

I've had a few friends who can touch the bulb socket but noone can turn it and I'm a little scared of being able to manipulate it further once we do. I tried the free service at Orilleys Auto, but they couldn't get it either.

I'm bidding it out on Yelp to see if I get anyone knowledgeable (or any suckers to try).

The wheel well looks like ~20 screws and I know I'd probably never get it back in there perfectly so that's a last resort...

So many problems come with any vehicle of any make/model/year, when they have a dash display.

I work on my landlord's 2018 Suburban and I am not looking forward to doing any front light/bulb work.

I have done it just like in the video, if the old bulb falls out who cares, that's why you are in there to begin with right?
if you really need too the spare battery tray can be removed for more room

I have gotten to where I can have one of the headlight assemblies out in under ten minutes without having to remove the front bumper cover.

I followed this video with the exception of removing the lower bolts under the vehicle and had the front facia move enough to access the headlight bolts. I do use a pneumatic ratchet so that helps in the tight spaces. I find it much easier and safer to work on the headlight housing on the bench. You can watch the video a few times.

Two methods for solving the access problem:

1. Like @Doubeleive said, remove secondary battery tray and get in there. You gotta have eyes in the ends of your fingers.

2. Buy a GMT800 and drive with a smile.

I can change that bulb in 10 minutes dragging my fat ass and holding a beer. That whole front clip does not have to come off.

As I said, I do not remove the whole front facia just enough bolts to pull the housing. Usually less than fifteen minutes start to finish.
