Third Brake light removal...2003 Tahoe

I did a search and didnt find anything but does anyone know if you have to drop the headliner to get to the wiring for the third brake light. Mine has blown out and need to replace it but wanted to know before i do it what i was getting myself into on the install. If there is infact a thread on it and i missed it...i apologize. Point me in the right direction to it and ill give ya some free passes to the ********** i manage lol.

2003? All i have to do is open the trunk and unscrew the screws of the 3rd brake light....

Oh i was just making sure since the wires go into the body. ill be ordering a third brake light tomorrow...may go with recon since its cheaper than oem

What everyone else said......the cable disconnects right at the light. Easy plug and play swap out.

Hope you didn't get one from recon website, ebay has really good oem and aftermarket ones for like $60.
