I'm re-bagging my yukon to lay frame and I was thinking about going with 24s but looking at prices I seen I could get a great set of 26s for the same or a couple extra bills more. Problem I'm having is, some sites for 05 yukons I can't look at 26" wheels and tires so I'm curious to know if that's a sign of "do not" do this or just the site playing it safe, I kinda figure it's alil of both and I know there are afew guys laying frame on 26s. Questions for them:

Do they regret it?
How's the ride?
Do they drive it everyday or just a show vehicle?
What should I pay attention to if I decide to go with 26s?

Thanks guys,
Shaun

If you buy off the shelf wheels you will need to setup your bag work for them, if you buy custom billets you can buy them to fit your bag work :imo:

I didn't see billets in a size 26" and the shop that's re-doing everything pretty much will be gutting it and what not. These will be "filler" wheels for afew yrs tell I decide on, 2-3 piece wheel but I'm thinking about 26x10-10.5 +32 or +22

We did answer it. You will probably not find a perfect 26" off the shelf wheel so use the companies mentioned and you will get a perfect fit.

I dont think i would do it again. Suvs are a pita. Then again i did a whole lot of ish at one time. I hardly drive my truck. Just dont have time. As far as the ride goes id say it is fair. Im not one to care if something rides good especially if its on big wheels and little tires. Just the name of the game imo.

Like yates said you need to find a wheel and build around that. It sucks but for a suv thats kinda how you need to work it. I want billets but i will only do it if i can get 28s.

Who is doing the work?

A guy here in mckinney tx but lol just found some billets, i might want but i won't get them for acouple years. I thinking about either the giovanna kook byblos in the 26" or giovanna dalar 6V but the 26x10.5

I like the billets but I'm worried i can't customize them and for the 26s i seen it was 5000 so how much more would it be to have them customized.

who's the guy bagging it? is it a shop or what's his name? just out of curiousity...

and yeah billets are up there $$ and it doesn't really cost more to get a specific offset or whatever.

What do you mean by customize? When I talked with Billet Specialties a few years ago they told me I could pic any offset I want as they make them when I order them, that is one reason they are $$. The other wheels you are looking at are mass produced which makes them cheaper but also only come in predetermined sizes.

I just called so if I were to get billets I'd get them in the raw form and then have them powder coated

Plus..... The place I'd want them from are backed out 8-10 weeks
