About two weeks ago I got hit pulling into my driveway. Both me and the other driver were ok with no injuries. But my Tahoe was totaled. When it came time to pick out another ride I considered a bunch of different cars, a corvette, a newer Supra, even a WRX as a cheaper option. But I kept coming back to how safe I was in my Tahoe. Plus there really is nothing else like it. Big body on frame, V8 Power, service parts aren’t expensive. It just made sense to get another one. So I bought a 22 Yukon Denali last Saturday. It doesn’t have the air ride or adaptive cruise control my Tahoe had but this one is four wheel drive and feels a lot nicer than my Tahoe.

Nice new ride!

I bought my Suburban in 15 and have never looked back. Tried a Traverse for a few months and had to get back to Yukon/Tahoe. Will never go back. Most folks driving these little Subuarus and Toyotas have no clue what we have going on in these rigs.

Sorry to see and hear about the Tahoe, but happy everyone is safe. There is a lot of piece of mind as far as safety goes driving these trucks, I can't see myself not having one at this point. The new Yukon looks awesome, good luck to you!

Holy SH....................IT, first of all, I am glad that NO one was physically hurt. What was the other driver thinking or was he wearing a blind fold ? I have owned Chevy Tahoe's since 2000 and I have driven them up and down the east coast in every weather imaginable to include on the sand at our local beach. While I am currently driving a 2020 RST (60K current miles), I am not sure what I want to get after this because like you, I am hooked on the overall package. I don't like the new style but your Denali looks spectacular. Enjoy it and be careful out there :)

I was turning right into my driveway. When my front tires touched my driveway is when he hit me in the right rear.
Glad you're ok! Wow.

So, this guy was traveling in the same lane as you, behind you, and didn't see you turning or something? Did you make a big, sweeping turn into your driveway from the center lane? I don't understand how he could have hit you in the back side of your truck (and not more squarely in the corner of your bumper, if not the rear altogether) if he was coming up behind you and you were just angling into your driveway from the same lane.

Looks like the other vehicle was a Honda maybe a Pilot?

From the pictures and your description of turning right, it’s pretty obvious other vehicle was at fault!

If you’re driving and slow down to make a 90 degree turn to your driveway the guy behind you was definitely not paying attention and never slowed down.
From the picture I am guessing he was pretty far behind and definitely distracted going 15 mph over the limit and just slammed into you.
Must have been pretty hard impact as you even lost the left rear tire as it got torn off the wheel!

These trucks are very safe!

From the picture it is a 2 lane road and 35 mph limit indicates slow speed zone.
He was in the only lane and I doubt any swooping turn as that would put him in oncoming traffic.

Classic case of distracted speeding driver who ends up rear ending a slower vehicle.

The second picture shows me that it's a 2-lane road with a turning lane in the middle (the accident occurred in one lane, there's a person walking in the center/turning lane, and there are two vehicles traveling the opposite direction in the other lane)...
