Test Driving a 2023 Tahoe RST Performance.. Thoughts?

I am about to go take a look see at this 2023 Tahoe RST Performance, 52,102mi, 1 owner. They are asking $58,633 which I believe to be high regardless on what Carfax or other websites say. Other than the asking price, it checks every block for me: 6.2, 10spd, 6-pot Brembos, yadda yadda... It's basically a PPV w/ leather.


For those who own 6.2 T1Xs, what has your experience been? I am WELL aware of the AFM/DFM issues and that there are dozens of posts about engine failure, etc, so I would likely purchase a service agreement if I decided on it. I would eventually mechanically delete the AFM upon warranty expiration, however I am not sure if HP Tuners supports 23+ at the present time. I know Range has a new disabler for the interim.

I know the typical protocol when looking at used vehicles, but I'm pretty sure there's no trans dipstick on these and I have no way of checking the diffs or scoping the chambers on the spot. With that said, what are some T1X-specific things to look out for during a test drive/overview?

Notice that there are only 4 service records? Me too, here's my biggest concern:

I ran the VIN on experience.gm.com/ownercenter/recalls and this is what came up. Looks like the "battery drain after software update" thing, and a bad brake fluid level sensor. Anyone have experience getting these remedied?

Those were both recalls that occurred on almost all if not all of the 23’s Tahoes. They were done on my 23 Tahoe.

Without a good/often oil change record, I'd be a little more skeptical. As you know these engines are potentially sketchy anyways....

I am surprised the dealer can sell it with pending recalls. They are computer downloads, so they won't take long to do.

I found a few 2022 to 2024 used trucks I wanted to see a few months ago. Called the dealers they were in stock the morning I left for the dealer. Drove there see the a guy signing the papers for the first one. Go to second dealer a woman was buying the second one.

I said F it give me a good deal on a 2026 and here I am. If you find a good few year old one they sell FAST. But economically it’s the best bet.
