Thanks to all that replied. We will see if I can get the High Country tomorrow. It's a busy day for us. We need to work on a final price yet. The BS of having to finance to save a few dollars. I always thought cash was king. Retired for 5 years now, I have no credit.

Yep. Today finance and credit is king. They gave me “employee” pricing which was like 4k off sticker.

When I bought my 26 RST it was a 90k truck. I drove out of there without putting $1 down. Technically my down payment was $1500 but it was a $500 rebate for opening a GM card and they charged $1000 to the GM card lol.

IMO it’s not smart to pay for a depreciating asset in cash; you are way better off with the cash in investments/real estate and making payments on the truck with a “low” APR. meaning APR less than you are making in investments. I could have bought the truck cash but it would be a moronic move.

I know it is a better deal to at least finance for a few months. I just don't want to give out my information.

I’m about to buy my 6th Tahoe. I’ve had LT, Z71 and Premier. I’ve driven nothing but Tahoes for 28 years. Trust me when I say that the Premier and High Country are over priced. I’ve got the money but I’m gonna buy a 2026 LT. I’ll save $10,000 compared to a Premier. High Country is probably $15,000 over an LT.

I’ve compared every single feature on all three models and you just can’t justify a Premier or High Country UNLESS you are buying based on Ego! The ONLY major difference is the magnetic ride control. I have it now and had it on my previous Premier. It quit working after about 40k miles and was never right after it was repaired. My Tahoe rode like it had no suspension.

Please know you cannot see the heads-up display with polarized sunglasses. I look at it rarely at night but will not miss it on my next Tahoe.

My son just bought a 2026 LT with Comfort Package and we took a short road trip. There was nothing missing on his Tahoe that I missed compared to my 2020 Premier.

New here and though I do not own a Tahoe yet, it is only a matter of time (by years end). i am trying to make the best out of my purchase and would like to ask the forum what should I avoid and what I should look for.

We are looking at a 2026 High Coumtry. it has all that my wife wants and then some. The windowsticker price is the only negative. We also like the Z71 or the RST, but my wife really wants the powered running board. She also likes the air ride suspension. Heads up display and rearview mirror camera worth it?
Most people turn the heads up display off. I found mine to be distracting. I wish the car didn't have it. I don't see the advantage of powered running boards. My running boards are out all the time. To me it's just one more thing to break. Inquire with the dealer whether your vehicle will have the evil engine stop-start. The new EPA has eliminated that requirement. (The EPA study showed that engine stop-start saves about 1 gallon of gasoline in the LIFETIME of the vehicle.) Some people are reporting their GM vehicle vehicles have it, others do not. If your vehicle does come with it, you're gonna have to spend around $100 for a gadget to disable it. I would recommend a bench seat for the second row. If you don't, when you put all the seats down for cargo purposes you will have a hole in the middle of that area. Verify that the car comes with Apple CarPlay.

^This is a very subjective reply.

Each trim comes with certain items that could be viewed as worth the cost depending on your needs. Heated/Cooled seats, magnetic ride, air suspension, rear seat entertainment, rear bucket seats, etc etc.

Not saying everyone needs all those things, but each persons choice in trim level is dictated by their own personal needs/wants. If a LT has all that you need, thats great! Others may disagree.

Are the trucks overpriced as a whole? Yes, absolutely. These things cost crazy money now but to each their own. If people are able to afford the vehicle they want then good for them.

Pulled the trigger yesterday on a High Country. HUD is nice! It drives like a dream on the interstate. I did about 30 miles of hands free driving. Kind of scary at first. Auto lane change will take a bit to get used to.

One thing no one mentioned about the camera review mirror. I find it "sees" better in the dark than a standard review mirror, I like mine.

The only downside of the rearview camera is the placement. The camera lens is located in the middle of the trunk, not towards the top.

I find when a car is behind me it makes it seem like they’re right up my butt, when in reality they’re a normal distance behind

I think it’s BS that GM makes you buy the upper trim to get cooled seats. I don’t know at this point if I will but another GM or not because there just pissing me off with all there problems! If this new engine that there coming out with isn’t what I want then I will be done for sure and I worked for GM my whole life as a Technician for Oldsmobile, Buick, GMC, Pontiac and Chevrolet over the years and what I see is just not acceptable. I could these things happening in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s but not know with technology or lack of. Good luck in your decision you will need it. And by the way it’s not just GM but almost everything new within the past 10 years.

Not sure about yours, but I can adjust the zoom on my 21 HC rear view mirror camera

My zoom has two options. Hella close and kinda hella close.

Seriously next time you’re at a stoplight and a car is behind you, see how magnified it is in your mirror. Mine looks like they are right up my bumper

I was about to get out of the truck and challenge the guy behind me for being so close until I realized its the camera.

I haven't had time to drive it in the dark. Bought it, parked it and took off for the holiday. Friday I will have a chance to play with it a bit more.

Congratulations on your purchase. I just purchased a 2026 High Country last Saturday. Put almost 300 miles on it already. Drive is ultra smooth with magride and air suspension. Just have to try super cruise. Only slight regret is that it didn't have 24 inch wheels which another tahoe I was about to purchase had.

Trim levels are totally subjective. We have a '16 LTZ, bought new in '16. Here are our experiences with the various features that came with our LTZ, now with 149,000 miles:

*4wd: never been used
*Sunroof: very, very rarely ever used, and never when the wife is in the vehicle
*Cooled seats: used maybe three-four times
*Video player/headphones: never been used
*CD player: never been used
*HUD: not used; quit working, have not had it repaired.
*GPS: never use; prefer Google maps instead.
*Internet: never used; subscription lapsed.
*Satellite radio: never used, subscription lapsed.
*Lane keep assist: do not use; leave turned off.

*Heated steering wheel, heated seats: used often; a must-have in our next vehicle.
*Rear air: use often, set on automatic
*Remote engine start: use often, but not really important. Mostly used as a novelty for the granddaughter, or other passers-by.

As I reflect on our use of the various options included in our '16 LTZ package, it appears that it perhaps would have been wiser to have bought a 2WD LT or LS instead. Why pay for bells and whistles if they're never rung or tooted?

YMMV

Yep. I don't care how stupid it was to pay cash. My finances are none of their business and they ask too many questions. I paid cash for mine and I really don't care. Out the door in less than 30 min.... I keep them long enough that it makes it worth it to me.

Out the door in 30 minutes WOW! It takes me more time refusing all the add-ons, extended warranties, subscriptions, and maintenance packages they try to "shame" me into buying. They try to make me out as a bad owner if I don't spring for all these things.

It took me an hour. They just had to wash it and give me a full tank of fuel. Once it was presented to me, It took about 15 minutes to do my receiving inspection and another 15 minutes for them to register the electronics and sync it to my phone.

We signed every piece of paperwork online before my arrival. When I arrived at the dealership. I handed the salesperson the check. He took it straight back to the finance office and said I'll be back with your final paperwork. We went out and looked at the truck for about 15, 20 minutes. He got a text that the paperwork was ready and the check was good. And he handed me the keys and said, enjoy your Yukon. 215.00 dealer fee and I was gone....
