Stripped wheel stud; lug nut stuck on

was looking to get my wheels balance since i threw a wheel weight. mechanis calls back, says i cant get the drivers front wheel off due to a wheel stud spinning and lug nut wont come off. any tricks to get this off?

Bummer. I just looked at my truck and I didnt see much that looked promising. I saw a couple yt vids, one was lugripper to help drill it out without damaging your rim.
, the other was a socket with a big cheater bar that you rock until you snap the stud.

I would cut off nut, then hammer stud out. Replace with new stub and nut. That is what I did a few months ago on my son’s truck.

I had a lug nut shatter and stick the wheel on. I drilled about 8 holes around the lug nut and then used a hole saw to finish it off after beating the sheit out of it with a sledge hammer to break it free.

This was for a friend, so it cost them $400 for a new wheel. Didn't charge for the labor....... What goes around comes around.

You're probably in that club at this point unless you can break the stud off.

^ That is... crazy.

OP, which wheels do you have? Pics? If you have access to cut it off with an angle grinder or sawzall, do that. Otherwise, send progressively bigger drill bits through the stud until it releases.
