Mine did too the other day after a rotated my tires so after a bunch of online research i freaked out and bought a throttle body, wheel sensor and a CPS sensor encase the error returns. It went away to quick for me to pull my codes so im not sure what it is.

From my research the system uses steering wheel position sensor and each ABS wheel speed sensor to calculate truck out of normal driving control. If it popped up and stayed on saying to service system then I would look into the wires on the front hubs and rear. See if anything has rubbed on become disconnected with the lift. Try getting an alignment to clear it.

If it flashes when turning then the system is working just not setup correctly. My denali is lifted and flashes in turns but its not aligned correctly so I need a very GOOD alignment to see if it clears from flashing all the time in turns.

Thank you for the advice, I'll look to see if anything is disconnected, hopefully this goes away, I'm tired of seeing this on my dash

Hey Rawlings,

Feel free to send us a PM if you'd like for us to look into your stabilitrak and traction control issues. We can check for any service related announcements pertaining to this. Sincere apologies for the frustration.

I had an issue earlier this week with both the Stablitrak and ABS saying needs service. The ABS one indicated an issue with left rear wheel. Took the rod off the left rear control arm sensor, move it up and down a few time, put it back on and I was able to ABS error, not coming back on.

The service Stablitrak message is still showing and the ABS light is on.

No codes!

Not sure where to start looking?

BTW, this is a '07 Yukon XL Denali.

Any help or guidance on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

The issue is that, at least for the 07-14 models, that stabilitrak message pops up for darn near any issue you could have with your vehicle. It could be TB related, ABS sensor related, alignment issue, MAF issue,....pretty much anything under the sun (for reasons we are not clear on really). So my suggestion would be to just watch it and wait until the vehicle either starts acting up or a code is thrown. If neither happens start with things like getting your alignment done (and other things that would not throw an error) and see if those things clear it up. Other things to check would be the connections especially if you've recently put new shocks on. There are connections right next to the upper shock bolts on teh back and they are REALLY easy to unplug accidentally throwing this message on your DIC. Ask me how I know

I did not do any work on mine, but had the Service Traction Control and ABS messages come up.

I checked the codes, found one for the ABS, really did nothing, but the ABS code cleared, still have the Service Traction Control and ABS lights on my dash, only the Service Traction Control shows in the message box.....

I check the ECM with my scanner, no codes show up. Do I need any special or added functions on my scanner to read the Stablitrak/Traction Control system? Mine has ABS and SRS besides the basics.

Still no idea where to start.

My wife's 07 did all that service traction control / stabilitrac nonsense. It turned out to be a bad throttle body. Also a word of caution, it will eventually get to where it won't accelerate. Hers would start and run fine but i could not drive it anywhere.

Looking for someway to troubleshoot the message(s) that comes up on my dash that say:
Traction Control Disabled
Service Stablitrak

Then the traction control and ABS icon's on the dash are illuminated, won't reset nor show any codes when I check with my scanner.

A diagram of where the sensors are would be at least a starting point.

Add me to the group with the same issue

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and experienced this issue this morning with my '07 Yukon. I'm driving down the Turnpike at 75 mph with no issues, then out of the blue, the sensors kick on about checking the traction, stabilitrak systems, very hard shift, etc...pretty scary at that speed! On top of that, my oil pressure dropped and smoke started coming from the exhaust. Of course it would happen while on a business trip 3 hours away from home...any how, I limped to an auto shop and they checked the spark plugs, wires and discovered one was heavily covered in oil (never had any indication lights come on about low oil, no sign on the driveway that oil was leaking, etc.). I called the dealer in my hometown and talked to a mechanic who has worked on GMC/Chevy vehicles for over 25 years. He said this year of Yukon/Tahoe, had big issues with this, as you all are discovering, and very often, it is caused by a leaky valve cover that creates the misfires and other issues.

I made the decision to leave it there and not attempt to limp her home, but it maybe something to check out. Hope it helps some...now working on how to get mine back home...fun stuff! Not!

My old 08 Sierra Denali did this stunt ironically on the way to trade it in. Stopped at auto zone because I just had a check engine light after shutting it off for a few minutes (and thankfully getting full power back) and it was anice accelerator pedal position sensor and the error said that one sensor varied by more than x percent for less than a second. Was a pretty cool trick to pull on us just north of downtown Chicago. Ended up not buying the rig we looked at and the light was back off within 2 hours and never came back on, at least for the last 2 weeks I owned it.cannot help with the code scanner don't own one.

My Yukon issue has been resolved, but costly

Just to share an update...I ended up having the Yukon towed back to the town where I live and come to find out, there was a defect in the '07 and '08 when Chevy introduced their flex-fuel engines. Mine ended up being that when on long trips, the engine will go from 8 cylinders to 4 to save on gas mileage. However, when it had to shift back into 8, the lifters will either be stuck down or wide open. One of mine was shut...they replaced 8 lifters on one bank they knew were bad. Cleaned the carburetor and changed the oil. They really wanted to change all 16, but I just couldn't afford all of that. I spent a tad over $1700, but at this time, it is running very well...
